What do you shoot through your rifle for plinking and more serious shooting. RWS, Eley and all upper end is good stuff for shooting tight groups but for shooting tin cans, what has shown to be cheap and reasonably accurate.

CCI SV, Federal 711b are fairly good priced for their accuracy. Also Rem or Win Subsonics, they shoot great in my Annies and with their h.p. they make good hunting ammo

I was shooting the bulk Federal 525 pack from my 1827F and it seemed to be pretty consistent and reasonably accurate. The lack of greease/wax is nice when compared to some of the other stuff when you're reloading mags.

the cheapest eley you can find often gives good results, remington subsonics may very well surprise you.

Found a great 22lr comparison chart on Accurate Shooter, 6Br. They list results of 55 different 22lr ammo at three different ranges "tested using a highly-accurate Swiss-made Bleiker rifle, with a 2-stage trigger"

If I had a nice Annie, you wouldn't catch me dead feeding it grungy remington or other crap ammo. Yes, cheap ammo is $2-3 a box. So, for just $2 more you can shoot something that has some quality! It shouldn't break the bank. SK Std plus or Eley target are in that price range ($5-6 a box) and should provide much better performance. Of course- you can choose what you want, but to me it is like having a Ferrari and putting regular gas in it... buy a honda if you want a cheap ride.

I had used CCI Blazer ammunition in four of the Anschutz rifles I had, and all shot tiny groups with it. Not high-end target ammo, but, I had good luck with it. I currently use it in my Browning Model 52, and it tends to be consistently accurate in that rifle as well.

I was surprised by the results from el cheapo American Eagle ammo in my CIL 310/Anschütz sporter. I must get some real target ammo and see how it does.

It is 100% possible to shoot a good 5 shot group with cheap ammo- but I think if you shoot 10 targets in a row and not call any flyers you will see where even the low end premium ammo has advantages (or not- maybe you have one of those rare shoot anything rifles!). I have shot some ok groups with american eagle - and then you get that flyer. It is probably my fav cheap round, but I shoot Eley practice 95% of the time (works better for me than Std+) in my "good" rifle. Yes it costs $5/box instead of $3- and so a range session for me is $20 instead of $12. In the grand scheme of things it isn't enough to worry about.

The 10/22 gets the cheapest ammo I can find...

Like I stated it's what I had around from the 10/22 and why it hasn't been shot since. I have no intention of putting regular gas in this rifle.
The local store has some RWS target pistol for 80 a brick. I hope they have rifle, I still am going to get the pistol ammo for my pistol. Also another member here gave me a tip for another source.
