Thanks!BOLT. Semis are for kids.
Get a Scorpio, CZ, or if budget allows for perfection: a T1x.
Any recommendations for an inexpensive bolt?Bolt first, but in the end 1 of each can't hurt, my kid shoots the semi way more then I do.
Scorpio, i don't have one but for the money they look amazing.Any recommendations for an inexpensive bolt?
Hunting grouse and just playing around. What's your budget and what type of shooting are you planning to do?
All of them are available in the EE, head over there and check it out. What’s your thoughts?
Take a hard look at a CZ457…better fit and finish, better quality, better barrel, better accuracy potential…for just a few dollars more. And this way you won’t be pressed into trading up in the near future because the next level is substantially much more money, like $3-$4K.What’s your thoughts?
What this guy said . My first semi was a 10/22 , bought 1966 , second year production gun (1965) which I still have , still running smooth and shooting straight !I suggest a 10/22 with VQ hammer and a CZ with a good quality scope
I picked up one of the sort barrel scorpio's recently and it seems to shoot cci quiet's into grouse head sized groups at typical grouse distances around here... I got it on sale for less then $300 shipped and I'm pretty happy. The short barrel is not everyone's preference but I like the compact size.Hunting grouse and just playing around.
I’ll take a look at the Savage Mark II and Scorpio

It's easier to shoot quiet's out of a bolt action but it can be done manually cycling semi's and some semi's like the browning SA22 can cycle the quiets.
It doesn't lose speed, it loses time to accelerate. With the shorter barrel of the 332x the round will loose speed (at least in theory).
I was wondering if the CCI Standard Velocity may be slighty under the air "break, boom sound barrier" speed because of that ?
Anyways, mine is on the way. I guess I'll find out....
