What to put between ?

Looking for a medium/middle of the road Cal that falls between .243Win & 300WSM. Deer & Moose are the intended quarry here in Ont. up to 3-400 yard max.
With your 243 and 300, you pretty much got moose and deer covered now. I'd be looking for a style of rifle that might fit your needs better if another is needed. The chambering choices from your list would all suffice to the task at hand.

If you already have a .243 and a .300wsm, I would have to go with the .270. The 30.06 will do it all, but you've got the .30's covered. Plus ammo is readily available for the .270, as opposed to say…the 7-08.

Or ......................... did some of us misread your original post and only assumed you own a 243 and 300wsm?

If that is the case the 30-06 is what I would suggest.

Me too. There is way too much performance overlap between the cartridges on your list and your existing 2.

I would suggest jumping up to something in 338 or 35 calibre.

I had given a .338LM a brief thought... :D

Possibly, the stable includes .204R, .223Rem, .243Win & the .300WSM

It's not on your list, and a couple of others mentioned it. The 280rem is what you are looking for. Shoots flat like the 270 and hits like the 30-06.

Seriously, for me, I've had rifles in most of the cartridges listed, but I find myself really missing a 280rem. Just an outstanding round with very reasonable recoil.

No need for another 7mm or .30 cal when you have a .300wsm.

People say you can never have enough guns, but truth be told, you are covered for everything in Ontario and 95% of the world with the .243 and .300wsm you have. Your money will be better spent on upgrading scopes and binos, or go on a hunt somewhere...
