What to put on an 'oiled' stock

Would like to see results of that technique Fassteel it sounds interesting.

The results are I think are truly amazing. Grab just about any and wood stock( never tried it on an oil finish) and put a small amount of the product on a cloth and rub it in, I start with the butt stock and work my way up the stock. I use a tooth brush when I get some in the checkering. Let it set for 10 minutes them with a soft cloth buff it up and repeat till the finish is as glossy as you want it.
On my last coats I will use one of those synthetic cloths used for shining auto paint.
I did 2 of my Full stocks with it recently and I'll see if my bud can put the photos in this thread as I have yet to master photobucket. FS

Meguires Scratch X

One of the latest rages in the USA right now is the use of Meguires Scratch X on wood rifle stocks. A fair number of the fellows on rimfire central including myself are getting some very nice results on all kinds of different rifles. It gives the wood a glossy or High Polish look, which I find very appealing. You put in on , rub it in , then buff it off. 3-4 coats usually gets the job done. I have done it to all of my CZ's and others as well. FS

Here is a picture of Meguires Scratch X on Fasteel's CZ.

Schaftol

Yes, I've talked to him about it and looked at his demo pieces. It seems like a good product. I keep meaning to buy a bottle but get distracted! He is at most of the gun shows in the southern interior of BC. I should pick up a bottle from him if he's in Salmon Arm next month.

Ended up buying a bottle from Bits and Pieces: http://www.bitsofpieces.com/schaftol.html

Looks great! Almost looks better than it did new. I'll get myself on a routine of touching it up after each hunt - once it dries out a bit... Life on the 'wet coast'.
