so now that i have bought my new 300 wsm i need to figure which ammo to use as i won't be loading this season.
My question is, whats better? velocity or energy? to much velocity with a tuff bullet sometimes equals small hole and less 'knock down energy" as the bullet passes thru so fast it doesn't do much damage.
I like 165 fusions for target shooting as they are accurate and cheaper! but what about for my over all hunting needs? better to go with the 165 with more velocity, less energy or 180 for more energy?
i like the Federal pr TSX but it almost seesm "too" tough and holds together too well???
also i think a boattail is what i want as it is more accurate and has better ballistics.
I'm still learning ALOT about bullet/ballistics, i'v done alot of research but right now i'm in limbo?
what are you experts thoughts ??? and what about the fusions for all round hunting? i hunt elk, moose, deer, bear and have been starting to get into goats too...
thanks
