I am interested in a trail cam for the coming hunting season and am starting to look around. I could care less about getting high quality pics and only want one of high enough quality for id. Therefore I am interested in a less expensive model. In addition, I just was given a 7 mega pixel, water proof pentax point and shoot that takes sd cards. It will be my go to personal camera when hunting so I would like to use it as a viewer and editor for a trail cam when I head out on multi day trips. Therefore the trail cam should take an sd card.

I would appreciate any advice on their use. One concern I have is upon finding a good trail are the deer spooked off by the flash going off. Any insight in to this would be welcomed.

I use the Moultrie Game Spy 100 which has a 2.1 megapixel cam and takes SD cards.

I've got a CuddeBack No Flash. It take 3.0 megapixal colour pics during the day, and 1.7 megapixal black and white pics at night. The camera uses IR technology, has excellent range and clear pictures. Easy to use and set-up.

Not me, it never seemed to fizz on them at all, startles em a little at first but then they get used to it and they know they're safe even when the flash is going off.
