I want to buy a trigger from Brownells for my Remington 700 VSF but I need to know if my rifle is Pre 2006 or Post 2006. How do I find out?

Contact Remington with the serial number and they can tell you when it was made...

What's wrong with the trigger now? They are one of the finest factory triggers made... quite crisp and reliable when correctly adjusted at 2 to 2.5 pounds... ?

P.S.
Sometimes it requires a gunsmith to work it low and crisp a bit but it is not a big cost at all...

I adjust all of my Remington triggers myself I just follow how to adjust info that I found posted on the internet.

Look to Shilen (~125) or Jewell triggers (~267). There are a few stocking dealers in Alberta - ATR and ###. If you use the Shilen you need to swap over the safety and bolt release. Easily done.

Gunteck said it right the Rem is a fine trigger when adjusted right,
I have a Jewell and they are very very good and canjars also.
I sent a trigger to the Triggersmith in Albany Ohio was back in a few weeks they hone trigger and adjust to 2lbs it is as crisp zerro-lag and smooth as any match trigger I have used.cost about $50 + shipping

I'd like to adjust my Xmark trigger, it's horribly weighted - tho crisp. I just don't know how to melt off the superglue that's over the screws :(

I dont have the xmark, just the regular factory rem trigger, but the glue on the screws wasnt very string, I just scraped it out of the flat head with an exacto knife then with a quick turn of a screwdriver the rest just fell off.

that is the instructions I used to adjust mine, I dont know if the xmark is all that different, look at these instructions and compare to yours.

set from the factory it was decent (ive used worse, alot worse) but it adjusted fairly nice, I dont have a trigger pull gage but it feels lighter then my savage accutrigger.
