Question For all Deer Hunters Out there.

What type of deer are you Specifically looking to harvest this rifle season, Trophy Buck, Sausage Buck or only Doe's.

Sausage Buck and a doe for me, But if a Trophy shows, I'll take it.

I'm happy if I can get a big fat doe (or two!). I know my friends want trophy Buck's, so I'd rather they shoot one than me. Looking forward to getting out for both muzzle and regular rifle, soon!!

Standing still, quartering away at about 20 yards, oblivious to my presence. That's the kind of deer I'm looking for!:D

I usually look for tasty does but if the opportunity for a huge buck presents itself I won't hesitate.

Muzzleloader this weekend.

My mule deer tags are for antlerless, so that'll do me for meat. I'll get a whitetail license, too, and I won't be fussy, but certainly among those I don't intend to pass up are notable trophy bucks. As a general rule, I shoot deer that are inexperienced, stupid, lazy, reckless, or just very unlucky.

A nice two yr old buck or a nice doe. Horns don't make very good eating. I have passed on some big old bucks in days gone by. I usually manage to find a young buck. Whitetail.

"trophy" bucks are sausage bucks, young bucks and does are steak deer! I seldom hunt for big antlers, preferring to hunt for meat quality.

I'm not picky, either one will do.

My son and I need 14 deer between us, 4 whitetail and 3 mulies apiece. 4 bucks and 10 does total. We're halfway there so we have to start pacing ourselves or we won't make it to rifle season.

For me its a minimum 190"BC Whitetail or Mulie buck or my tags are Christmas tree ornamnets...but thats me. I make my sausage with the moose and elk trimming. Times will change in the nexts years to come when my boys are older and come out hunting with dad.
