What type of muzzle break? 1911-45ACP

In the early 90s I shot IPSC open division with a single stack 1911 45ACP.I used a Ed Brown "4 star comp"and in order to get the comp to work somewhat efficiently I used 155gr SWC bullets loaded to major. It sort of worked but when I finally got a comped 38 super I was amazed at how a high pressure round like that works the comp compared to the 45.

Truth is that compensators really dont work well in a low pressure round like the 45 and the bushing compensators are a complete waste of time(unless you want it for the appearance).Theres a reason that you cant find many manufactures making comps for the 45 and as a round the 45 doesnt recoil all that hard anyway.

Ah yea, video is a must. I wonder what happens if one primer is slower than the other!? Or if the magazine is loaded with 2 different loads/factory brands? Is there anything in the manual poo-pooing doing this?

Time will tell. In the videos the AF guy says you can mix ammo, he says hollow point and tracers.

I imagine if one primer failed to ignite powder, there wouldn't be enough energy to cycle the action off one round.

There were some truly odd loads tried in order to get a comp to work on a 45 - if you look around the racing circuit now, you'll see that there are precisely zero shooters using comps on 45 cal guns.
