Grandma passed away recently, I found these while cleaning out grandpa's shop, any clue as to what the rifle was? It looks like a .22, apparently grandpa found it out in the woods many decades ago, the action looks mustly rusted together but the barrels bore looks better then the rest, though obviously not great. Thinking about finding some solution to soak it in to pull the rust off and then have a look at it.

Also found a Mauser .22 pistol magazine, have no clue what pistol it's for, would like to know what it's worth, will put it on the EE at some point, and what I would guess would be a williams lever site, though I see no manufacturers name or date on it and it's missing the peep.

If anyone has any idea of what the rifle once was possibly it would be interesting to know.

Looks like a Stevens rolling block.

Googled it, I think your right. Thanks! I was hoping it would be from something rare or exotic, these don't seem to demand any more money then the Cooey single shots in pristine condition though.

Any clue as to what mauser mag is for?

Might want to read up on removing rust with electrolysis. The Arm and Hammer washing soda (not baking soda) is carried by Home Hardware. I have seen examples looking like yours, that ended up showing numbers / letters / engraving under the rust, when removed by electrolysis. Scrubbing or sanding would have wiped all that out. Just a thought...

I'll have a look online for that, Thanks.

It looks like a Marbles sight

Cool, that'll get me started to figure out what it may have been for.

Maybe a mauser hsc mag.

Right thanks, I'm just gonna put it up for sale, it has no sentimental value for me and would be more valuable to someone missing a mag.

I have used organic acids in the restoration of nautical iron artifacts. A month in diluted (20%) citric acid will remove the ferric compounds. You will end up with a nice wall hanger

That sounds easy, just citric acid and water in a tub?
