I got my feet wet with a Norinco and it has been great. I'm sure #2 will not be that long in coming and other than being in a higher price range than the Norc, I don't really know what brand it will be. I'm an EE shopper and never really know what I "need" until I see it priced right.

How are your guys' DD M4V5s? I had my mind set that I was going to buy the last one at wolverine last Thursday but when I got there and checked it out I was so disappointed on the fit and quality of it. Lemon most likely?

Fit and finish on mine is great. Gun is solid. Very slight movement between upper and lower and I mean very slight but this is normal. What made the one you handled so horrible?

am building my first right now -bought a norc 14.5 upper for know as budget allows
building up an oympic lower i got from a friend for a good deal.
all the parts will be here by tomorrow according to canada post but I may still have to wait a few weeks for wyatt's minions to ok my transfer and get me an ATT (for a bare receiver - whatever).
getting pretty anxious.

Lots of play between the receivers, flash hider was improperly timed, stock was canted, and the trigger pins were extremely loose. Just didn't feel like it was worth what they ask for them. But like I said, might have been a Friday gun.

Daniel Defense Smith M4 V5, from Wolverine. I hadn't been able to decide, then I saw the ad and it tipped the scales.
It's in the mail and I'm so giddy with anticipation. Won't be able to afford sights for it for a while, but I'm happy with the choice I made.

My first AR which happened to be my first rifle period is my spikes 10.5 which I absolutely love. I thought about holding off for the DDV5, but I thought I can always get the DD later, after all a guy needs a CQB gun and a mid length.

I'm surprised "colt" wasn't up there, so I had to vote in the "other" catagory. Back in the 1980's, it was either them or SGW. I'd say that's why this catagory has the highest votes so far.

I then went with Bushmaster in the early 90's because Colt made the PC decision not to sell to civvies anymore after a mass shooting. They ended up going filing for bankruptcy and getting better owners....

Todd65 and I share a lost chance. I had a Match HBar that could shoot better than the new CF Tac rifles even with old Eagle ammo. Wasn't restricted or anything. Sold it for $600 in 1990!! ####!

I bought (2) Colt A2 H-BAR's back in 1994 and still own both of them. Got a 11.5" Bushmaster in 1996 and haven't bought any more since. A Daniel Defense M4 V5 may be in my future at some point. Only time will tell.

Norinco 14.5 was my first which I've had for just over a year now. Not a single complaint as of yet. I think my next will be a 20" stag if they ever have them in stock.

Colt AR15A2 20" HBAR without bayonet lug, Bought it way back when they were non restricted. Paid cash, took it straight to my office to show it to some co-workers then home to go gopher shooting. Man I miss those days.
