What Was your first deer shot with?

Took up deer hunting in 2007 with a Browning BLR in 270 WSM that my wife had just purchased for me. I had sighted in a nice 1.5-4x20 scope and worked up a load for the first hunting shot on the big doe at 50 yards. Bullet was a Nosler AccuBond 130 gr. Bang/flop. Also, I shot that deer about 1/2 hour into the season. Shortest season ever for me.

Husky 30-06 with a 165 grain sierra, little mulie buck. I shot my first moose, and my first bear with that rifle as well. I don't foresee it going anywhere any time soon. Even though I haven't used it in years......

Ruger #1 in .270. Fairly long shot and panting like a dog chuffing thru the knee deep snow at 14yrs old. He was looking at me over his shoulder broadside, my boiler room shot went thru his lower jaw and took out his neck, pole axing him on the spot. Been a Nosler Partition fan for life after the bullet performance on that botched shot.....

a trusty old lee enfield 303 british my grandfather brought back from the war.he set me up in his spot on his look off where we had been cutting pulp wood and the deer had been coming in all the time to eat the buds on the cut branches of the maples we were cutting too. he took a stroll with his shot gun down the road to another push off. a half our later a 4 pointer walked by the left side of me and stood broad side in front of me. shaking like a friggin leaf at his "huge" rack i fired...it went right over his back and he ducked and ran 20 feet then stood broad side again, couldn't get my scent and was unsure of what was going on.i stood up, quickly racked the bolt and fired again. dropped on the spot. probably the best memory i ever had as a young fella was the day my grandfather gave me this deer. still miss that guy.

My first was with a 303 British no 4 mk 1 through the neck of a 10 point buck from 35 yards. Most deer shot since have seemed a bit lack luster since that first one

Four seasons ago, Ruger .44 Magnum Carbine shooting Hornady Leverevolution 225gr FTX. A nice doe, 40 yard shot across a little creek while quartering toward me. Hit her a little high, but passed thru right under the spine = bang-flop. I think I'll remember every little bit of that day.

First deer was a old buck with busted off horns at 200 yds with a 7600 in 30/06 I thought it was a doe. The gun was my dads buddy's and I had it for a few years.. He passed away a year ago and I talked to his wife but she was giving the rifle to his grandson (that's where it belongs anyway) I was 13 shot a 4pt a week after that too.
