What Was your first deer shot with?

First big game animal I ever shot was a Sitka blacktail deer in the Queen Charlotte Islands used a Husquavarna rechambered to 270 Weatherby loaded with 130gr Wby factory ammo that my grandfather had given me.
 
Peak rut, Parker Hale in 7mm rem mag. Was pouring rain, moving down from a higher elevation. Come around the corner and 2 bucks standing together 5 feet off the road. Jumped out and the 3 point started to cross the road. Shot him in tbe neck, turned and the spike just stared at me, so he took one head on. Blew his lower jaw off and exited behind his neck. What a day!
 
1954 marlin lever action 30-30...4 point, I was 15 years old and blew off both front legs at the knees and the lower jaw. Sufficed to say, the head was not worth mounting when the third shot hit it. That taught me to never take the shot up hill with the animal facing me lol

7.62x39 comes in soft point too.

18,000 posts in a year? If you are referring to the person I think you are, then he actually did most of those posts several years ago but he was banned due to trolling for a lengthy period. Perhaps the clock re-zeroed when he was reinstated.

combo rifle shotgun (don't remember the brand sorry) 20ga + 8x57jrs with zeiss 1.1-4x20 and reticle 1 scope on it but I must admits it was a deer family but only a small roe deer ... next one by a Merkel drilling 2x16ga + 7x65r with 1.5-6x42 Zeiss reticle 1. first red deer 7x64 the followings by 300 weatherby magnum.
 
1976 Ruger Carbine 44 Mag with Rem 240 gr JSP bang flop at 80 yards. My dad was a mile away and heard the shot followed by "Yaaaaaahooooooooo!" I still have that rifle with a big notch he cut out of the stock just before handing it to me saying "it's yours". Hard to believe that was 24 years ago and I was 14 years old.
 
.30 M1 carbine; one shot behind the ear at 80 yrds offhand with peep sight. It was 1981, a 5x4 coastal blacktail and I still have the antlers.
 
First hunting trip I was using my brother's Lee Enfield no.4, but I actually got buck fever and pulled on both shots so no deer that year :(

Then two years ago on my first hunting trip by myself (well I was still with a buddy but you know) I was using my brand new Tikka T3 Hunter in .30-06 with a Vortex Viper HS scope 2.5-10x44. First saw a doe run between the trees from the opposite side of a field and a buck walked out and had no idea I was on the other side of field. It was about 170m and I got him through the right temple. I had never seen a deer drop like that before but he was standing fine one second and just immediately hit the ground after I pulled the trigger :D
