What Was your first deer shot with?

3x4 Mule Deer. 50 yards, Parker Hale .30-06. 180 grain Federal Hi-Shok? or Power-Shok? factory ammo.
Last day of hunting season at mid-day.

A fiberglass stick bow I'd bought at a closing sale. Might of drawn 40lbs. Cedar arrows with bodkin broadheds. I was really close when I punched one in his lungs. I think I was 13.

I had a hard time getting this big doe in the back of the Versa....I always have my gun with me during deer season and was coming home from soccer when I saw this doe. My truck was at home but the opportunity was there so my 7-08 and the versa had to do.

.243 Win from a Remington 788. 4 point Mule @ 50 - 70 yards. Shot high through his spine just above his lungs. He "ran" (didn't know they could move so fast with only 2 legs) for about 30 yards before we chased him down and got him properly. Not the best story but he didn't suffer for very long. Maybe a minute. I doubt he felt anything anyway, probably running on pure adrenaline. I was 16. about 15 years ago.

12 Gauge Remington Accutip from a camo Mossberg 500 with bushnell scope mounted. 75 yards. Municipal bylaws where I hunted prohibit the use of rifles, only shotguns allowed due to proximity between properties.

Edited to add : It was my first time hunting, and I succeeded in under 4 hours. I had prepared for two weeks prior, from calibration of the scope at the range, to buying the right gear, washing everything in unscented soap including myself, looking at call videos, etc.

I was on a mission and I met it with success. Definitely very proud of that moment.

Edit:I was using a well worn 30-30 carbine.
