What was your last big game taken with

Last fall was a mixed bag of weapons. Mule deer with the bowtech revolt x and easton axis grim reaper combo , whitetail deer with the muzzleloader using 250gr sst , bear with the tikka t3 7mm rem mag using 162 eldx. Unfortunately didn't get to fill a moose or elk tag but was carrying the 338rcm as well as 308.

Young bull moose and caribou with LH Sako Finnlight II in 338 Federal w/ 200 gr Speer, at less than 100 yards and just over 100 yards respectively. Moose tipped over on the spot caribou staggered around a little prior to tipping over a few yards from the spot.

I had another great bow season and took 4 bucks and a doe with my crossbow. CenterPoint sniper 370 and Easton carbon express tri blade torrid broadheads. All in the first month of the season

Pronghorn Buck - Sako 85 Stainless/Synthetic, 270Win, Swaro Z3 3-10X42 BRH. The reticle was set to reach out as expected for open sage country hunting. I was lining up for a 600 metre shot as we could not get any closer without being busted. Suddenly the does started moving. What I could not see was a coyote had spooked them and they started running straight towards my location. The buck followed and my shot was just under 100 metres.

Two weeks later, Whitetail Buck - Custom Rem700, KS Arms 35 Whelen, McMillan Edge, Swaro Z3 3-10X42 BRH. Fluke hunt as I barely started walking, maybe 10 steps from the truck. The buck stepped out onto the cutline at about 75 metres. 225 grain Bearclaws are awesome.

Bull moose, 105ish meters, Ruger no1 S 9.3x62 286gn Nosler Partition going 2400+ fps, Leupold vari X3i 1.5-5x20! Day 7 of a 8 day canoe trip, moved camp a few times along the way, on day five we set camp on a gravel bar, spent the night but the next day we thought it wasn’t great so we moved camp across the river on a high bank in a young pine forest! Lots of walking around, Paxil g down stream, tracking back up, calling sitting eating napping….. on day 7, same thing all day long plus a bit of 22 shooting! Supper comes along we are done we ate well, I drank a little, guys are sitting around the fire bull####ing, so I decide to walk along the high bank going up stream rifle in hand and on the way I grab a big stick and started to trash and grunt!! Five minutes later a nice bull moose was on the ground across the river and the work was on!! One shot, the moose was looking my way of course so I place that partition between his neck and his left shoulder, bullet nicked the aorta the through the heart broke a rib on the opposite side to finish its run into the opposite leg. About 3+ feet of penetration! That bull yield about 480lbs of dressed meat! Really fat! Ext day we paddled the rest of the way to the take out, did the shuttle, got home and hung that guy up in my shop!!

It was my best moose hunt so far, not a big moose, smaller than others I shot bit bigger than some I shot too!!
Now I’m hoping to get a bison in the next 3 weeks!! With an other 9.3x62!

great and lovely story the smallest are giving the best meat anyway.

wish you the best and aim for a calf less work and better taste.

and finally after over 2 years we re getting to go hunting for bison in a week cant wait ... all those years without really hunting it is coming to an end finally.

March 3 2023 - Zimbabwe Bull elephant, .416 Remington / 400 grain Trophy Bonded Sledgehammer solid. Rifle was a rented Winchester Model 70. Range was 3-5 meters. The story takes a while to tell.

November mule deer. Whitworth 7x57 with 145gr Winchester Super X.

Found the herd I had been watching for a few weeks but hadn't seen this guy yet. I spooked them over a couple hills but was able to creep back up on them. Watched this guy lightly spar with another smaller buck. He went broadside and I shot prone about 150 yards resting on a fallen fence post. He didn't really react just turned and walked a few feet where I couldn't see him. I was worried I missed because all the other deer barely reacted. When I went up to him he was bedded down about 10 feet from where I shot him gasping for breath and made no attempt to move when I got up to him. You can't tell from this angle but his antlers are very atypical. I'll see if I can upload another photo.

Last big game was a Double, Opening day of the December Ontario shotgun hunt evening stand. 10 mins in Coyote came out first but didn't give a good shot. Then 9 deer come out, one shot front shoulder on doe at 40y, 5 point buck at the back stops broadside at 144y shot 2. Doe ran maybe 30y and piled up. Buck DRT.
Hornady Sabot SST 300gr no bullets recovered, 870 12g rifled barrel, red dot.

While I was gutting the buck my father in the same area shoots another one to make it 3. Tags full/freezers full.
