what would be a fair price?

Looking at selling a 1953 Russian SKS with a tapco intrafuse stock (non bayonet model). The stock is painted quite nicely, but there are a few scratches from use. Also comes with a foregrip, and the original wooden stock and bayonet.

Right around 1000 rounds of the toxic milsurp stuff through it. Also has a gas tube from a chinese SKS on it (long story).

Had some stoppage issues with it, which appears to be the result of the trigger mech coming a bit loose with the new stock on it, easy fix and no problems since.

It's been a good rifle, but tastes have changed and looking to help fund other projects.

What do the experts think is a fair price? Not trying to get a fortune for it, just wondering what is legitimate?

Thanks,

J.

PS: gun purchased new for $199.99 and tapco stock for $135.00

I wouldn't bother selling it. There are so many SKS rifles around....you will likely have a hard time getting your money back.

Do you still have the original stock?

Its Prolly better if you put it back on, and sell the Tapco Stock seperately.

anything you add/mod to an sks..... dont expect to get back.... I think we all learn that lesson... Im happy and maybe a little embarassed with my bubba'd sks, but I know its still a $200 gun ... tops.... thats why I'm keeping it.....(and I still like it)

Yeah, maybe you guys are right. I figured I wouldn't get back what I put into it. It's mostly just taking up space, and I hardly fire it, especially since I got into restricteds. But maybe I'll just wait til a buddy wants a starter rifle.

Why would you want to get rid of a proven battle rifle...Hardy, rough, takes a lot of ####...What more do you want in 7.62 x 39...Never know when it'll come in handy
