What would be the ultimate 10/22 setup

I am starting a new project for my 10/22. So I did a bit of research on the net to see what s new out there.

Heres my suggested list of goodies for my new rig

Force receiver
Kidd bolt
Kidd supermatch trigger
Kidd bolt buffer
Kidd Super match barrel or a Hart match 20" or a Clark match 20"

Whats your opinion or best setup configuration?

Realistically though, (this set up would be around $1200) I'm probably going to build on a "stainless" 10/22 receiver, 16.5" tactical solutions barrel, and a hogue od green overmolded stock. Topped off with a Tasco propoint (pdts132)
 
The Tasco propoint will let you down. You are building an accurate gun and the optics should match (within reason).
 
I dunno... I have a trophy red dot on mine right now. I like quick target acquisition, and light weight. The tasco has a smaller 5moa dot.

And looks damn hot too!

I'm not knocking it, but people that generally spend way too much on a 10/22 want to make really small groups on paper to justify how much they spent. At least I do.:redface: :D
 
The "bones' of the 10/22 you want to build look fine....

If you're going to do any serious target shooting a good scope is probably a better investment than the red dot.

I have the Mueller APV AO on my Ultimate 10/22 and it's a great match for the paper punching I want to do.

As Rubikhan suggested visit the Ultimate section of Rimfirecentral, there's many different builds and opinions to look at and pick up ideas from.
 
Well I have been in the 10/22 market for a while and have found out what is good and what is great. Here is what I have on my rifle:

Kidd Match Bolt
Kidd Match Trigger Assembly set at 6oz
Weaponkraft Recoil Buffer - lifetime warrenty
VQ Bolt Handle
Lilja .920 Barrel: Should arrive via mail today
Coming within the next 6-8 weeks: Claude Gatewood Varmint Walnut Stock
 
I will post a pic as soon as I get it finished. The only thing slowing things down is the custom stock that I have coming.

The stock will look similar to this one except I got mine in Extra Fancy Walnut, with checkering on the pistol grip and an ebony grip cap.

The "ultimate" setup could ultimately run you $10,000+. It really depends on what you consider the ultimate. You could drop thousands on custom machined parts and a hand crafted stock.

MinusB and Chief Dave alike on rimfirecentral possess a few fine 10/22's that will have heads turn.

There's expense and there's what one personally considers his or her rifle an "ultimate".
 
Armament, I do agee that "ultimate" is subjective, but there is so much noise out there on after market parts. I wanted to know what you guys have come up that works well , is reliable and is extremely accurate. However lets not forget the cool factor. In my book if you put the bucks out then it should also look good:)

BTW very very nice rigs.

I know $$$$ and more $$$$ and a little bit more $$$$. But if you have a passion might as well indulge :)
 
I have about 1k in my 10-22 and it's a good gopher gun. Be prepared to spend a lot if you want to build an 'ultimate'.
