Hi - just wondering if anyone else out there is a LaRue fan, and what your wishlist for LaRue stuff would be! Haven't found too many places that stock it up here - Shooting edge had it for a while, but haven't seen any since.

Anyways, I really like their rail systems and the QD mount I have for my 3x magnifier is awesome.

I have some Larue mounts and some ADM cantilever scope mounts. I prefer the ADM and it's available in Canada.

However I do like the Larue ACOG mounts

LaRue can suck my left testicle.

I'm sorry, was that too blunt?

I didn't know why all my Larue mounts had walked off my guns until I read your post Firemachine69.

They were adamant on making sure they represent Larue as a loyal hardworking companion, so they must have taken you up on your offer. I tried to stop them, but they were so persistent! They are on their way over now. :D

Let's see:

LaRue built a reputation on providing phenomenal quality mounts and accessories at fantastic prices.

They've moved away from that.

They've shunned the Canuck market, and now they only come in under "gray" markets. LaRue will NOT warranty your defective merchandise - your dealer will be eating up the cost.

Whoops.

The company's president has made it no secret that "Canada isn't worth his time".

Fine by me. I will shop elsewhere.

(For the record, EGW has treated me extremely well.)

They did the same to the market in California for many years. Then in 2008 I believe... Next thing you know, Mark LaRue is donating at least $12,000 per year to local organizations designed to defend legal gun owners.

They just became California friendly all of a sudden when they realized that it was a massive market that was untapped.

Perhaps we'll see the same in the future with Canada & LaRue.

There are a few reasons why LaRue parts are not "readily" available in Canada (or any other country besides the US).

From what I have heard over the years, LaRue tried to apply for an export permit from the US department of State (even actually talked to Mark on ARFcom and he said he was trying to get that started), which was rejected for some reason. They didn't feel the market was big enough to justify messing with the US dept. of state (or they didn't care enough...)

LaRue as a company doesn't normally like to sell through distributors - and as such from what I head they don't offer discounts for large orders (or dealer discounts). aside from a select few companies anyways.

So combined with them not being able to export items directly to Canada, as well as them not offering any discounts for dealers WILLING to go through all the export paperwork, nobody can really get them, at least not without spending a bunch of extra money for individual export permits, and as such that money would be passed onto the customer....

So if you DO find LaRue stuff, its usually very expensive... I would like a QR mount for my Leupold CQT, but im not gonna spend 250 or 300 dollars for it when they're closer to 150 in the US.

I've yet to have a Larue product that was defective, broke, or required warranty work. I've owned a lot of Larue products. CGN'ers don't like Larue because they shunned us at Shot last year, and won't ship here. Don't take it personally, its clearly an ITAR/Business decision. We are, after all, a small market. From what I heard, Larue was receptive to Canadians this year at Shot. Word on the street.

Correct - LaRue was more than receptive to Canadians this year, and they are looking at ways to get their products up here. Nothing concrete yet, but they were very adamant that they had nothing against Canadians.

Some of their mounts have been 'top notch', most are no different than any others.

This is a case of, It is not available, "Oh my god I have to have it, I will look so cool at the range"

5 uppers on a table, all the same price. $1200-ish
LMT, KAC, Noveske, PWS, Stealth.

Stealth would be the last one sold.

Heard the same thing four years in a row, direct from the horses mouth. Friendly Friendly "Would love to sell up to Canada"... Went no where. "Too busy". Whatever.

Then tried American Defense mounts, found them superior, and never looked back. The fact that AmDef are totally friendly to Canada in more than just lip service is just icing on the cake IMO.

Larue is ITAR registered, they sell direct to police internationally, if the order is big enough.

Yep all the ADM stuff has been top notch, its just too bad they have a fairly limited number of items (compared to LaRue) although they are a fairly new business, so that's to be expected.
