What would it cost me for someone in bc (preferably within 5-6 hours of kamloops) to take me out elk hunting?

Since I've only ever shot deer before and that being last year for my first time and since I lack a truck... I'd need someone to take me out (there is a joke somewhere in here).

I could provide either money and/or split the meat/gas. I could also supply a person with ammunition (I get Cdn tire money so ammo is cheapest for me sometimes if it is at Cdn tire).

My wife wants to try elk meat and I am trying to figure out if I can somehow afford to manage it... so estimates on prices/arrangements are needed lol.

Here he is at it again offering funds for hunting.
This is called illegal guiding.

This is taken from page 14 of our B.C. Hunting Regulations.

illeGal GUiDiNG4The Wildlife Act defines "guide" as: "a person who for compensation or reward received or promised, accompanies and assists another person to hunt wildlife".4It is unlawful to act as, or offer to act as, a guide for fish or game for compensation or reward unless licensed to do so.4A person must possess a valid British Columbia Guide Outfitter Licence or Assistant Guide Licence in order to legally guide hunters. The government licences guides to ensure that their activities can be closely monitored and regulated.4MoE intends to increase its enforcement efforts to stop illegal guiding. A person who guides without the proper licence commits an offence. A person who uses the services of an illegal guide may, as a party to the offence, be charged and convicted of the same offence.

Looky your trolling is annoying. If you don't like me, ignore me like you claimed to have done.

I think everyone understands the essence of what offer I was making. If someone is contributing more then I am then I should make up the difference somehow.

Or is paying for somebody's gas or splitting meat etc considered guiding period? Because I know a lot of people who do that. I wish to go hunting, but I need someone to take me out and likely use their vehicle which results in wear and tear on it.

Now seriously, stop. It is childish.

Can't he just pair up with a "buddy" and go hunting and at the end he can fill the fuel tank and split the meat? Seriously what's the big deal? My friends and I pay for each others fuel and split meat big deal....

The wording is slightly different from our Alberta regulations, but here it is illegal to accept compensation to take someone hunting unless you are a licensed outfitter. And paying someone's expenses could qualify as compensating them.

The difference is that you and your friends likely don't post ads where you offer to compensate each other for taking each other hunting.

Nothing childish nor trolling about my reply to your thread.
Read and understand the regulations.
And stop what?
Telling it as I read it as it is what you type?
Nothing short of an illegal activity what you ask here.

Well then if this is considered an ad I guess I'll just play semantics and say "who says I wasn't asking for an Outfitter/guide?"

I am not intending for a person to make "profit" off me. I just don't want a chap losing money by helping me out.

Regardless, read the B.C. Hunting Regulations and read them well.
I take the resources this province has to offer with an appreciation that you
obviously do not.
You seem to have an adversity to twist things around to garner a favorable outlook
only to yourself.
Try reading our script with the intention that it is written, not deciphered by your
jest of worth.

If you want to ask about a guide or outfitter, then ask about a guide or outfitter.

Exactly!

And, if the op had worded his post differently it would have been received differently.

Ex: Hey guys, I'm looking for a hunting partner to chase elk, we could split all costs.

Cheers
Jay
