What would you consider a fair price for a Colt RO634?

I have found one for sale, but the asking price is much higher than I was expecting. Wanting to get a feel if the seller is out to lunch or if I am. Thanks, Phil
 
If it's the same one i know not only the sellers is way out to lunch but he doesn't have a good reputation either, you might want to check about him first.


If your plan is for resale forget about it.

On a serious note. Colt 634 sold for $2500 when they first arrived in Canada. I was offered one for $7500. I know another guy wanted $10,000 for his.
 
First make sure it is a real R0634 SMG SA gun, I have over the last couple of years seen Colt Defence 6450 9mm carbines with 10.5 inch barrels these are not R0634 SMG's. Colt R0634 's are marked COLT SMG on the receiver and have a sear pin hole with a role pin, all the original guns had came in military cardboard boxes and standard Colt military plastic bags. Over the years I have owned several of these SMG's, KevinB bought one of mine for about $3200/$3400.00 and the other two I had sold for $4500.00 & $6000.00. The majority of the R0634 had been sold through Ontario Sporting Supplies and imported by RNicholls in the early and mid nineties, the original cost on these was $1134.00 to the dealer and as you can gather they have appreciated over the years.

I wish Colt would make a batch of 634 again only for Canada but this time with a flat top upper.
