What would you do...choice of 4 guns IPSC

Tilting the gun to get to the mag release is not a big deal. you have plenty of time to reaquire your grip as you are inserting the new mag. Lots and lots of people have to shuffle the gun.
you are looking at new guns that are all Standard Div, none of the guns you mentioned are Production Div, which is where you are shooting right now with your Beretta. If you want to move to SD, then yeah those guns make sense. However if you want to stay in PD look to CZ, Tanfoglio, S&W and Glock for a gun. Also all the guns you mentioned for SD are fairly large gripped guns, so small hand size is going to be a possible issue with you there too.

I always find the "small hand issue" is not really that big a deal. I can't reach the mag release on ANY guns (short thumbs) but have no problems with the grip on any gun either.

There are a large number of juniors out there shooting full framed handguns and are managing just fine. You can spend forever trying to find the perfect grip/gun that fits your hand like a glove, but it's far easier to pick up a random gun and get used to it. It always comes down to the shooter, not the equipment, anyways.

Again thank you for all the good advice.

I spoke to the people at CRAFM (very good to deal with btw). They told me pretty much what I was advised here. Which is to stick to my gun , learn the basics right, try other members guns to find out which ones I like and then if I feel like it change to something else.

So for my trigger finger problem...till I get good enough to go faster . When I finish shooting or reload I put my trigger finger on the frame and use my supporting hand to press the mag release and reload. The RO's tonight said that they didn't see anything wrong with the way I was doing.

So with that I'm gonna stop bugging you guys and thank you for the therapy. It was weighing heavy , felt like I had messed up my chances to enjoy a really cool sport with even cooler people.

Later,
