Ok guys,
I have to choose between two scope mounts. Here's my setup...
Savage 116 in .338 wm
USO ER25 5-25X58 + 2 inch sunshade + flip up cap
set of Leupolds Mark 4 steel rings
US Optics Mount UMQDS 34mm 20 MOA
EGW Pictinny rail 20 MOA
Mc Millan fully adjustable stock
I could either mount the scope on a 1 piece 20 MOA USO mount on top of my existing rail and by doing so getting a 40 MOA of inclination. This setup allows me to shoot at a longer distance but the scope 58mm bell is pretty high from the barrel (around one inch). Or I could mount the scope on the Leupold rings, have the scope at about 1/4'' above the barrel and still be able to shoot pretty far.
What would you do and why ?
ps: I understand that I should pick the one I feel most comfortable with (body, head and cheek) but is there anything else that might be important to know ?
Thanks as always
Cheers
Mario
