Hey guys,

here's a little poll at my expense.

Back story:
Building my first AR from scratch and have had a hellofa time getting a barrel to fit my needs.

Ordered a 10.5 barrel that was sent to me out of index but the right length, so I sent it back, and ordered another 10.5 from another dealer that is out of length spec, it's effectivly an 11.5.

The Question is do I:

a. Persevere and find a 10.5" barrel because it flushes the flashider with my rail.

or

b. F##K it and run the 11.5 because even though it doesn't look as good it will function more reliably.

Have fun I'm looking forward to your input.

Buy a longer rail. 12" will still give you half of the flash hider exposed.

Didn't vote. Not my cup of tea. I'm more of a 16" or 20" barrel guy.

10.5 is what you want, so you won't truly be satisfied if you don't just do it as planned.

Agreed, if you don't get what you want, you will always wish you had!

That being said, who gives a #### what it ooks like as long as it goes bang when you pull the trigger and hit's what you point it at. Reliability trumps looks any day of the week

I also didn't vote as I prefer 16-20" of barrel when shooting 5.56

Run the 10.5... Looks way better, I'd run it... What length is that rail? Looks pretty slick, I'm looking to do a CQB/PDW rifle, and am not 100% sold on a ~7.5"

It looks really slick with the 10.5, if you get the 11.5 you'll probably shoot unhappy for a year or two and go buy a 10.5 anyway... even if it performed well. gotta go with what you'll like
