So, I purchased a CZ 858 from a CGN member on the EE. The rifle was said to be in like new condition.
Upon receiving the gun I disassembled it. The exterior was spotless! The interior was as well, I mean not a trace of lubication of any kind. The problem came when I went to remove the gas piston. It was seized tight. I had to use a punch to break it free.
The gas port where the piston sits was rusted. The gas side of the piston was also rusted but it was easily cleaned. The gas port required more attention but a rolled up emery cloth and oil did the trick.
The bore appears clean and bright.
I notified the vendor about this and told him I was not happy. He said he cleaned the rifle with windex after every use. Appently he did not clean the gas ports.
So, what would you do? I am inclined to test fire the rifle and keep it if all is good. I have had a VZ58 for awhile now and am well versed in the platform. The vendor appears to want to make things right.
