What would you get?

The .204 is worth it!! I can smack pigeons, crows waaay out their and see the impact. I prefer the 32 gr. loads traveling around 4300 fps for birds and gophers (red mist happens)and load up some 39 gr. Sierra Blitzkings or 35 gr. Bergers for Coyotes. My Rem LVSF shoots a steady 1/2 " groups and should shoot better after "Guntech" does his magic on the trigger, free float and bedding.
Ive owned/own alot of Cals. and the .204 is by far my favorite cartridge.

Cheers!!

For what it's worth, the good people at Sierra recommend Tikka for accuracy but do not recommend Remington (the only North American marker they do recommend is Savage). I don't own a Tikka (yet!) but I would like to.

I've read a few posts with there being some quality control issues on the newer Remington rifles. I would go for the Tikka or maybe a Savage. There are a few 12 series models in left hand configuration.

Prophetriver.com has nice CZ .204s:dancingbanana:. I put a conquest on mine and never looked back. A heavy barrel is tiresome. Im reloading some varmint grenades for the summer.

Just saw a picture in another thread of your gold plated gangsta gopher killa...:D You bad...

My 10/22 is a freaking tank...lol! I dont mind though...keep that gun on the shoulder and the 870 slung around my back...add 30 or so pounds of ammo and its alost a workout!! LOL!!

I have an Elite 4200 6-24x40 mildot on the 10/22....it is alot of fun to count down the shot!! lol!!

Ive never had a stainless rust on me yet...though I left my 870 in the trunk of my car for a couple weeks and it rusted all the hell....

Yeah, i gotta be unique :D So far as I know its the only one of its kind!!!

Just curious why people keep bringing up CZ and Savages?? As I said Im looking at the Tikka T3 and the Remmy 700SPS....

I DONT LIKE SAVAGE RIFLES!!! LOL!! :nest:

Sillymike, I emailed Frontier a few days ago, they dont have any 700SPS in left hand...$729.95 and 3-10 weeks for delivery!!

Life would be so much better if everyone was left handed!! :runaway:

Since you aren't afraid of spending a few bucks (evidenced by your BLING BLING reciever - LOL) and were already looking at a Remy, had you considered the Remy 700 VSF in LH?
It seems to have everything you're looking for with no need to upgrade.

The thing I like about the Tikka though is that it uses a detachable mag instead of a floorplate. Handy.
I currently in the process of converting my 300RUM XCR to a detachable.

Looks nice, but not available in .204 Ruger!!

in any case:

WOOHOO!! Called Bashaw Sports today to make sure they still had the Tikka in stock....the girl who answered(Very nice lady named Donna)told me they had one but that it was already set aside for a customer :(

She told me she would call their supplier and see how long to get another one in, then get ahold of me.

About 20 minutes later she called to say that it could take up to 5 MONTHS to get one in!! OWCH!! BUT, she also said that the person who spoke for the one they had, had NOT put a deposit on it!!! BOOM!! Out comes the Visa and its now MINE! I put a $500 deposit on it, and will pay the balance next month. I would have preferred to fondle the gun a bit before buying it, but the only store that I could find it in stock is about 5 hours away! So I said screw it, Im buying this rifle! Now I just cant wait to get it!! WOOHOO!!

Congrats on your purchase.

It was smart of you to act fast, I don't know how many good deals I lost out on cause I hesitated.

Impulse buying for guns = good.

PS You will love the .204 on gophers, so far my limit has been 350 yards but this comming summer my goal is to achieve a few 500 yard kills.

Check my sig for results on pigeons.

Been busy collecting "stuff" i need for handrolling some good loads...

Finally found some 204 brass....Winchester unprimed 100 per bag $29.95 a bag...bought 4...Hope it is decent brass...Never used it before so I guess I will find out...

Basically all I need is powder and primers...

Looking for H335 and Remington 7 1/2 primers...nobody seems to have these!! LOL! Gonna keep looking...

I am really chomping at the bit to get reloading for this rifle! Should be able to finally pick it up middle of March...

I was in at WSS the other day, they had a T3 Tactical there...I made sure I got to fondle it pretty good :D The SS Varmint is pretty much the same rifle...sure felt good! Cant wait to get it!! :D

You should buy some Hornady .204 Ruger factory ammo... the 40 grain works great on coyotes and the brass is Lapua I think. It is far better than the Winchester for reloading.
I know where there is a Tikka Super Varminter in 222 for a $1000.00 brand new!

I want to have lots of ammo loaded up for this gun...dont wanna have to burn off a bunch of factory loads first...

Got some 26 gr Barnes Varmint Grenades to try out :D

YAY!!

Went to Bashaw and picked up my shiny new Left Handed Tikka T3 SS Varmint in .204 Ruger!! I am very happy with this gun! Very nice feel to it!

I wanted to play with the action a bit more, but my dam snap caps wont chamber

Anyways, felt good to drop about $1400 in one sitting...got the rifle, 2lbs of powder, 2000 primers, cleaning rod, and some hot camo lingerie for the wife :D

Here are the piccies(Less the lingerie)

I've got a couple of old beater scopes if you want to throw one on. Their not great, but it's a start. One came off an AR, but the turret caps are gone, and another is an old 2.5X Banner. Still clear, but again no caps. But just to try it, they'll be fine.
