What would you pay for legal full cap AR15 magazines?

confused?

I'm not into black rifles, just a dumb coyote hunter and a 7600 fan,so please bear with me and a few dumb questions?
- Is the 7615 with 10rd mag legal in Canada or not?
- assuming it is not, could I get a 7615 with 5rd mag and be legal?
-on page 4 Powerwagon illustrated a mag with a bump so it would fit the 7615 but not an AR,if these mags were available, could I then use a 10 or 30 rd mag in the 7615?

Looking at the Number of M-305s in Canada, it may be VERY worthwhile to run the same drill with a mag that HAPPENS to fit in an M14....

Odd that they use the argument that "Because the 7615 can accept AR mags, it's limited to 5 shots as if it's a semi-auto." To me, that's a rather broad interpretation. If it was legal to make and use dedicated 10+ round 7615-only mags, I'd definately buy a bunch.

You can use what ever the hell you want in your 7615. The restriction is on the magazine it's self! It's the "AR-15" / "M-16" MAGAZINE that is limited. Remington declared that the 7615 "Takes commonly available AR15 magazines" and that's why the mags that come with, or that you can get for the 7615 are restricted to 5rnds.

Reads the regs before making any further comments.

Magazins are controlled, not the firearm you put them into.

Ever seen the Dlask pump action PAC5 or whatever rifle that has it's own legal proprietary 30 round mags? Apparently they fit the 7615. There ya go, for you, no charge.

I wouldn't pay an exorbitant amount of money for one of these mags seeing as I don't participate in much 3 gun shooting. I'd say my ceiling would be 50-60 bucks a piece but that is still quite high IMO and yes, I think what is available right now is WAY over priced considering the price of magazines down south.

Like Mark from Questar mentioned, doing this successfully might have some repercussions regarding changes to the law to close such a loop hole. What might be a more worth while endeavor in my opinion is producing regular 5 and 10 round magazines here in Canada to drop the price of AR15 magazinse from 30-50 dollars a piece to the range of about 10-20 dollars a piece. Now, if my suggestion is impratical and impossible then forget I even mentioned anything. It's just something to think about.

My idea regarding this is to make the new magazines similar to AR-15 ones but with additional grooves instead of bumps or ridges. The new pump action rifle's magazine well would be designed with ridges that would fit into these grooves so that the new rifle could take only those magazines made specifically for it and not AR-15 ones (thus removing the "this rifle was made for AR-15 mags problem").

The fact that these new mags would fit perfectly into rifles that take AR-15 mags without any modification whatsoever would be pure coincidence. :D

Don't worry, a sample is already on the desk of the RCMP :D.
But, they said "Unfortunatly, your sample magazine can be used in the Remington 7400 series semi automatic firearms, so we've determined it to only be a 5rd mag". I called remington, they said:
1. We've never made a 7400 series semi in .223.
2. We've never used AR15 style magazines on anything except the pump action 7615p.
Hmmmmm. Working on getting Remington to send a certified letter to the RCMP.

There never seems to be one single individual who can be held responsible for the consequences of their decisions. So stupidity reigns...

That's right, Canada is the land of Bureaucracy. Nobody's reponsible for anything, unless it involves saying "No".

They should change Canada's slogan from: "True north strong and free". to: "No, that can't be done. Quit now and collect welfare."
