what would you pay for this sks package if we were friends?

300$ is what you can buy that setup new. so like $250

318$ is what it will cost minus taxes for a 5/20 mag, Tapco stock and SKS, ALL new from CT.

I'd TRY to sell that thing for $250 on the EE.
$200 for your friend.

It's a very common, easily attainable, very entry level gun.
These rifles are as low as $147, stocks are $110, mag $25
I'm seeing value around $285 plus tax if your a smart shopper.
Regardless of what you've got into it, that's what a person could build it for today.

I'd sell it to a friend for what it cost me at the time I picked it up. That's always fair the way I see it.

Glad I'm not your friend big guy, you used it...decided you didn't want it, and you want your full dollar back from a FRIEND?
ANYTHING you purchase is devalued the moment it is bought. With the exception of ultra rare items, which a TAPCO SKS is certainly not.

hmmm maybe in nova scotia... but no CT sells sks in Quebec from what ive seen... i see you point but
in quebec taxes are 15% also

never saw a tapco mag at less than 35$ shipped around here

if my CT was selling sks and tapco stuff this low... i wouldnt even sell him mine and would go with him to a CT

i paid around 375$ for everything + around 6-8 hours of work on cosmo removal, sanding, staining and around 6 layer of tung oil

thanks for your input though ... i need to move to nova scotia :)

Lol, I'd never sell it in the first place. But if I bought something a few years ago, barely used it (which 200 rounds through it is) and maintained it well. I'd defiantly ask what I paid for it, not what it's now worth in the current market. I should have said it like that to begin with. If I bought it for 149$ and it's now worth 199$, a friend could have it for 149$ and I'd probably through in a couple hundred rounds of ammo as well.

As far as I look at it guns aren't like cars, they don't always go down in value once you buy them. Most increase in value, milsurps in general lately. Look at the svt for example, they keep rising in price slowly but surely.

Well, I wouldn't be the friend you could give it to. Tacticool add-on crud is not my style. Sorry. However, I have butchered more than one firearm for a friend, hours spent on it. All for free. So, why charge for your labour. On the EE, sure. But a friend?

If a friend wants your SKS that you don't want to keep for yourself, there is only one right decision - present the rifle to your friend as a gift and never mention this again.

Friends should never show lust for friend's guns, true, but also friends don't count pennies if they want to give a gun away to a friend.

Which with Tax is around 370. But used, SKS and even 300$ is steep. For a friend. Never know what your gonna get in return.

thanks guys
it helped
and just to make things clear it wasnt my friend of 20 years who saved my life 5 times.... it was just a work buddy
so no way im giving free guns away like this

but now we can close this thread ...

The green Tapco looks pretty good actually. You typically see the black and FDE ones.
Good luck. I'll be watching the EE in case the deal falls through.

Ya, I don't know where these guys are finding these deals, but in Mb you would spend 375$ for that package. So maybe 275-325 resale.

My friend actually bought me a sks for xmas lol, hes nicer than I am though, for that sks id sell for 200$ to a friend and call it a day.

In the end the laminate stock comes with any 147$ sks that can be found and the tapco can be purchased for 100$ ish, so realistically hes getting like 50$ off new at 200$

Just to be clear, in most parts of the country there are no 147$ sks's

where are you guys getting those 147$ sks all in ???

if there is 25$ shipping and 15$ taxes.... its not a 147$ sks anymore ... its a 187$ sks....

and if we are talking about the arma coat sks... im pretty sure they came out close to 200$ all in...

here is an add on the EE about them:
http://www.canadiangunnutz.com/foru...e-white-on-rice!-quot?highlight=arma+coat+sks

''Someone has said they would buy a Arma Coat sks is one comes up. So I just want my costs.
$200 plus shipping

Refurbish and painted with "BBQ" black paint
Rough gritty feel to action and to a lot of parts
A sanded stock with a finish
Sorry no pictures''

and from what i understand every thread about those SKS has been deleted by arma coat
