What would you put on SR-22 - EOTech or Aimpoint micro?

Realistically, we all have a limited budget, and quality optics are expensive. I personally aim to have less guns with good optics, and I feel there's nothing wrong with buying an optic that equals the gun in value. I have an aimpoint micro on my 10/22 and I really like it. It's nice to know it'll likely never give me any trouble.
I use a Fakepoint M4 Clone ... works well. And I didn't have to spend $500 on a real one. I've even used a clone Eotech 522, but the adjustments weren't to good so I scraped it.
For a .22 I wouldn't shell out the cash for real ones.

I put a Bushnell Red Dot model 730135.
Works great and only cost me $90.
For backup Irons I bought Troy knock-offs by "Element" from Airsoft Club...
...they work great.
Can consistently put 25 shots on a 6" paper plate at 100 yards with either sight. - May not be precise enough for some, but good enough for me.
Next I plan to put an NC Star 1.5-6X40 scope on it and see how good it can do at 100.
Works great and only cost me $90.

It's about as cheap as you can go for a quality reflex sight.
A used bushnell holosight (the eotech built one) is about the only other option.
These and the more expensive sights are very bright and super crisp, even in direct sunlight, and don't have that "soft" looking reticle.
You'd be fine with a cheap knock off style sight, but if you ever used the real thing, you'd not want to go back to the cheap one...

Well, I don't know what you consider quality, but my Bushnell red dot works just fine on all my firearms, day or night...
...And like I said - $90.
A friend of mine owns an Aimpoint T-1 (yes a real Aimpoint - NOT a knockoff) and I'm sorry, anything that will damage/destroy my Bushnell WILL do the same to the Aimpoint.
IMO, it is NOT worth the extra $$$...

Since I had an extra EOtech while waiting to build a new AR platform, I put it for now on my SR-22. All I can say is WOW!!! I picked up a knock-off quick detatch 5x magnifier from a fellow CGN'er (he got it off eBay foe $100), and I haven't looked back. I love it with the EOTech, but then you're getting into the issue of EOTech vs Aimpoint. Go with whichever optic you prefer, but I know I will be keeping my EOTech on it for a while yet.
As for the 5x magnifier, I was able to get multiple hits on an IPSC target at 200 yards. I think it could do well if I was shooting group, but it was a definitely lesson that the rifle is much more accurate than I am.

See, now why is it that so many people I've talked to says that I wouldn't be able to hit the gong @ 200 meters with an SR-22? This includes a salesman at a well-known local shop. Are they sorely mistaken? I'm new to rimfires, optics and any kind of distance hitting. Are you "lobbing" your shots? I love my SR-22 but sadly haven't been to the range yet with her. She hates me right now.

LOL, unless he's using some sort of "super high velocity" light weight rounds, they have to be "lobbed" shots because at 100 yards with high velocity 40grn the drop is around 3-5" from my observations...
...I think I may move out to 150 and 200 to see if I can get any sort of respectable groups.
Not many are answering the OP's question, the choice was Eotech or Aimpoint. Whatever your eyes adjust to quicker is what you should use. From a battery life point of view the Aimpoint beats the Eotech by a country mile. Probably better resale on the Aimpoint and if you ever want you can stick it on a shotty unlike many of the cheaper ones suggested.
A member of my club runs .22 LR precision rifle matches from 100-300 yards. I've shot one so far with my scoped 10/22, it's a lot of fun. At 200 yd you need about 23 MOA up from a 500 yd zero, so use a holdover like that when you try for the 200 yd gong.
