I’ve heard there may be a change coming. I’ll believe it when I see it. If it happens then my T3 CTR with a Bushnell 1-8 is pretty handy. Iron sights would still be really nice though. Scopes add weight and bulk. I had reached out to Steoger Canada a long time ago to see about buying some T3 Arctic iron sights. I think they quoted me 600$ or something like that. I bet a laminate stock would be just as much although a Boyd can be had for a lot less.

What about a red dot as an alternative to irons? I shoot both and give the edge to the red dot, it’s actually really fun
My Tikka in .223 is pretty hefty at the moment. It’s a PRS gun.
As for red dots, they are great until the batteries die or the lense gets some water or snow on it.
Sorry but no. I know shotguns are effective but blasting at stuff just isn’t my thing.

I would consider a Browning Micro series 223 with a 2-7 leupold scope.

The CZ527 is really nice. I have a FS in 223 and really like it but I got a synth stock carbine that I'm going to get cerakoted by black box for the wet island weather. Keep in mind the older CZ527s also have a 1:12 twist.
I agree with pete that the browning x-bolt micro is quite nice. I picked one up in 243 black friday for about 2/3 the price of a CZ527. The downside is it doesn't have irons.

Yes. I have this in 22 Hornet. Nimble accurate rifle. Optics friendly only though.
Is there such a thing as iron sights for any Browning Micro A-Bolt or X Bolt???
Browning does sell the x bolt hunter with iron sights, I’m willing to be they could be retro fitted onto a micro.
I have two x bolt micro’s, a composite in 6.5cm for me and a Midas in 243 for my wife. We haven’t taken the 243 out yet, but I was out yesterday and shot a 0.665” and a 0.32” 3 shot group (at 100 yards) with my eldx handloads.
What SuperCub said, there has been much talk of allowing any centerfire rifle for use year round in N.B.. Makes sense, if someone is inclined to poach they can do it with a .223 bore. No reason one can't take a "deer rifle" out varmint hunting.

What I like about the browning is the 60 degree bolt lift and the tang safety, of coarse light and nimble as you say. I have an A-bolt micro in 284win. My eyes aren't good enough for open sights now.

**CZ527 or Ruger GSR in either 7.62x39 or 223
**Henry (or equivalent quality) lever action carbine in 30-30
New: Brno, Ruger, Henry, Kipplauf (or equivlent quality) singleshot in 257, 7x57, 8x57, 270, 308 or 30-06. Preferably a rimmed variant, but not necessary.
