So got my M/N a lil while ago.... Can't figure out for the life of me what year this thing is from!

You will see the rust spots and the sand blasting done to the bolt....

Given the roughness of the broaching on the receiver, and the turning on the barrel, I would guess '42-'43.
Don't think that is sand blasting, looks like pitting after some corrosion was cleaned off.

It is an Izhevsk, arrow in triangle on the barrel. Odd there is no date, never seen that before. I would guess 1943, but you would have to check under the rear tang of the receiver.

Barrel marks should look like this:

Check on HOW they were supposed to be before you start filing and stoning away.

Any of mine that are in decent shape show standard double-pull trigger: soft at first, then coming to a definite stop, followed by a harder, very short letoff squeeze.

Trouble with the basic MN design is that the spring and sear are the same part and so hardened quite efficiently. Takes careful work with a STONE and OIL to slick one up, but it can be done. Real easy to go too far, too.

Hope this helps.

This trigger only works at the end of its travel. I am not joking. All the way at the end is when it will release the pin. I will take my time and look at the forums on how to do it right. Thanks for the info!
