What?????????

Deer "scrape" the ground for different reasons. What you are seeing this time of year are likely related to young bucks just making scrapes along travel routes. These will escalate in both size and number as the rut approaches. Just an early indication of what's to come.

Lol... Suit yourself... :) ... For clarification though, does make scrapes and bucks rub trees... Not unusual to see bucks make "rubs" to get rid of velvet..
Do you even know when you are shoveling sh!t? Have you ever actually left the house? 'Cuz you are so full of it your eyes are turning brown. "Bucks don't make scrapes". You are a joke!

I mean, these are just professionals and scientists...probably know nothing about hunting or deer anyway, right?

Need I go on or will you stop helping now?

I don't know about him shoveling it, but my whizz techniques during the rut are fool proof!

Thank you for your generous links to interwebs articles while you accuse me of being a stay at home hunter... Would you like me to link you to the article that "scientists" wrote regarding southern ontario being host to the most concentrated wolf population in canada?... 90 percent of all statistics on the internet are made up... 47 percent of all people know that....

Interesting reading material you provided but really, your people skills suck... At the end of the day I live on 400 acres of woods and struggle to find space in 3 freezers for my game... I'm always willing to learn but not from a self righteous dork who tells me I never leave the house and proceeds to quote interwebs articles...

Ride on interwebs cowboy... Great job "helping"

#### the articles, #### the stats , #### the scientists!!!!

Show the results of what works for you repeatedly.

If this thread goes anymore sideways , well let's just say I am gonna bottle some of that "lure" of mine and put it on the EE for hunters to use.

Lol... Sorry... No sale here... Generate plenty of my own as a coffee drinker... :) ... Just wish we could stop judging eachother from behind a keyboard...

Technically speaking I look for scrapes, look for rubs and try to piece together a cycle, add trail cams to the mix as well as observation and that has worked for me... That's all I can say....

Well from my experience aside from the physical sign is to a) use the wind and b) sound - using the proper calls and not making "strange" noise.

I have used the scents, do they work? I have no concrete evidence in my experience either because I have had deer show up with no scent in use and no deer show up when using it.

I do not believe in cover scents OR camouflage. It is impossible to eliminate your scent in my opinion, even just a hint in our noses is like driving by KFC friers for deer.Use the wind.

Find the travel areas and hide and call.Deer will respond to calls when they are ready to respond to them. Following scrapes and trails will definitely improve your odds as you are in the area the animals will frequent.

MOVEMENT is the big deal breaker, IMO they see you move, you are busted and done, unless you get an overly curious and young animal.

It again boils down to go where the deer are and scrapes and rubs like others have stated are where the deer are at.

Again this is my opinion, i am no expert and have no B & C bucks to my name.
