Currently out waiting for the sun to get a little lower before the elk calling starts, but it’s the Montana 22 Creed/88 TMK combo this weekend. Probably stick with that until an elk gets shot, then it’ll get the nod for moose as well.

22 DontNeedMore and 88 TMK combo turns out to be as effective as suspected. 110 yards on a 5pt, onside shoulder crushed with a 3” hole through the ribcage with 2 ribs gone on the impact side. Bull turned, made it two body lengths, and then stumbled backwards to fall down at original impact site.

Tikka t3x .270 win with 130gr grand slams for whiteys and 150gr grand slams for elk.

Also have an xbolt 7/08 that could get taken out aswell with 140gr partitions.

I'll try to get something with a nice rack. Failing that, I'll smoke a fat doe at 60 yards with my BAR in .30-06 (150grains of core-lokt I believe). Then it's into the meat grinder and I'll have a good 3-4 months worth of burger meat for my boys.

Love the huskys, the look, the feel. The 1640's stock was howeer not great for me and in '06 it messed with my jaw when I shot it. Never understood why.

The older stocks tended to have a very low comb angle, so the recoil tends to twist the gun upward about the top of the butt at the shoulder. Depending on the sights and corresponding cheek weld, that might give you some jaw gyp. Maybe that's what it is.

Awesome! Congratulations! Would love to see the wound channnel. I’m in the process of putting together a RSS to handle my shooting needs but am always interested and tempted by the “Don’t Need More”
