I've been offered these 3 boxes of ammo for my collection, Still sealed. what's a fair price for these? I don't want to get taken too badly

Any help is appreciated, Thanks!

Might have been ASKING 35 a box, alright...... but how much were they GETTING?

I have to agree. I bought several original packages of cartridges at Markham, Ancaster, Woodstock and Toronto Gun Shows. These included pre and post WWI .455 ammo, and .303 ammo, but they never cost me more than $10 a package. Also, I bought three boxes of .280 Ross at a Gun Show for $10 a box, and that stuff is a lot more difficult to find than 12 round .455 packets.

$35 a packet is $3 Dollars a round, and while they are not really common, they can usually be found at Gun Shows priced at around the $10 mark.
.

They should be about $20 a box for taking all 3...if you were buying smaller quantities at a show, a lot of guys would "ask" $2 each. Nice to get it in clean original boxes however.

Glad I didn't buy them, The fella wanted 45$ a piece and I thought it was way too steep, I bought 1916 paper and twine wrapped 303 for 15$ a pack and its not all that easy to come by anymore

Point to remember, too: the stuff being turned out of the old Government plant, the Dominion Arsenal (headstamp DA) was a perfect copy of the original British ammunition.

That means Cordite loaded

Berdan primed

Corrosive primed

Mercuric primed.

Ouch!
