What's a good optic for a short barreled tactical shotgun?

I was thinking of putting an EXPS that I pulled off of one of my sporting rifles that is now apparently a weapon of war, designed for the battlefield on one of my short barreled tactical shotguns, but the optic is worth about 3x the cost of the shotty itself, and I had plans on putting it on another rifle I own, so I'm looking for recommendations.

It needs to be able to absorb the shock/recoil of a 12g, and hold zero. Preferably at low cost.

Suggestions?

What shotgun, if its a Mossberg or Remington, then scoleryworks make a low mount for anything that uses a the footprint of the trijicon rmr , the holosun 508t , for example, which has a circle dot recital, which is nice for a shotgun , pattern fits the ring at X distance.
And there's the Aridus Industries CROM , which has a rear sight to co witness through the red dot, if you have a front sight.

Something with a great big dot - 6 MOA if possible. As far as cost goes, shotguns are the hot deal of tactical firearms, especially if all you do is put a sight on them, so yes the optic could be worth as much or more than the gun, don't sweat it.

If money was no object I'd want an Aimpoint Micro.

I wish.

On the low budget end, I've heard the Bushnell TRS-25 holds up well but I've never used mine on anything bigger than 7.62x39 for long

Consideration also of a laser, which allows positive aim at short ranges with great flexibility, without requiring you to shoulder the gun. The proverbial hip shot, if you will, yet well aimed. Not sure what sort of a buttstock or grip you have on it but now for example Bullseye has a compact Truglo laser on for $85 or so. Crimson Trace saddle lasers for around $250 as well.

I've got a Beretta 1301T. Started out with an EOTech 512, but have since gone to a Burris Fastfire 3. Still waiting to trial the Burris on the range, but the EOTech was just a bit too large and tall for the task. The Burris is nearly a co-witness setup by comparison.

I think the best optic for a shotgun is a Holosun that has the large 64MOA circle ⭕️ option like the 503cu or the ACSS CQB reticle.
This corresponds roughly to the pattern of good modern buckshot like Federal Flitecontrol or Hornady Versatite.
It also matches quite well with my modified choke Mossberg with Remington 8 pellet reduced recoil 00 buckshot.
It’s kinda cool to have a circle pattern that shows the beaten zone if you ever had to take a questionably tight shot.
It does have a red dot in the centre for slug shooting as well.

I'm cheap.....I just use the OEM bead sight. Which I find faster than GRS.
If I want to splurge I buy a Hi-Viz snap on sight :)
