what's a good price on a CZ75?

I have someone who owns a CZ75 that he's had in a safe for 20 years, hasn't been fired in that time. I haven't examined it yet, but assuming no rust and everything still functions, what do you guys think the value of the gun is? The guy only has a POL, and seems to be considering turning the gun in for destruction, so I'm hoping I can get a smoking deal on it, but I want to make sure I don't go above what its worth for sure.
 
I purchased a new CZ 75 B 2 yrs ago for $669 tax and shipping in. For a 20yr old gun and good cond., $350-400? Check on past EE ads to compare.
 
There's a Pre-B on the EE for $500 right now. That's probably a fair price. Maybe you get a discount from the guy.

Note that the CZ75B mags WILL NOT fit a pre-B, and extra mags are a BASTARD to find. I know because I have one! It was the first pistol I bought back in 1992 or so. It is still one of the best shooters I own.

There must have been a later pre-b version which accepts the modern mags with no issue. I've got a late model pre-b and use it with my Shadow mags and vice versa without any issue. Not suggesting that this is the case here but it may help of the gun is ONLY 20 years old since that's roughly the age of mine.
 
$ 250 to $ 400 for a 15-20 year old pistol depending on the condition. A shooter from my club sold a pre-B for $ 225 a year ago, 3 mags included. I was reading his newly-posted ad checking the details when another shooter immediately gave him a downpayment. I almost banged my head against the wall when I saw the pistol a week later. $ 225 pays for the mags alone! Check the pistol and verify the functions. If you can ask him to shoot or you shoot few rounds, better. Give him an offer he cannot refuse. AFAIK, a pre-b CZ 75 will not accept current production magazine. I might be wrong though.
 
If he has a valid POL, then you can ask for his license # and details of the pistol. Then call CFO for a STATT to your home club or a specific shooting range. This is like borrowing a firearm from another licensed individual.
