What's a good source for .308 surplus FMJ by the case?

Mind you, a Dillon press, alone, will run you about $1,000Cdn, new.....
Your claim is somewhat misleading...Unless you`re buying a Dillon 1050, no other Dillon press costs $1000.00, even in Canadian funds, unless its made in gold....As to buying a single stage press first....Get the Dillon 550b...It`s manual indexing gives you a "single stage press" feel...When you get used to that, you then have progressive reloading at your finger tips.....

You can easly spend $1000 on an XL650 if you get the electronic case feeder

All prices are off the dillion site in USD

Square Deal 339.95
RL 550B 395.95
RL 550B W/O conversion 355.00
Super 1050 1539.95
XL650 504.95

Electronic case feeder 239.00

So your basic Xl650 is 613.03 CAD This is before shipping so you can count on spending an extra 50 bucks on shipping then when it hit customs if your smart and have it sent by USPS it will be 5 dollars duty and 79.69 taxes

So thats about $750 to your door... before adding any accessories like a case feeder, strong mount, caliber conversions...

Dillion also makes other units for more comercial use that are more automatic or at least they did a few years back which are alot more expensive then the 1050

Lock-n-Load $539.95 CAD crazy thing is if you want there case feeder the site has it listed at 422.59 USD thats more then the press costs in the states...and its nearly double what dillion sells there same case feeder for.

If you add $21.99/100 for new brass, and reload each one 6x, which you should be able to do quite easily,

Unless you are using a semi-auto... In which case you might not find your brass or it will be all bent to hell.

Higginson has once fired brass for $9/100...

The nice thing about reloading is that you'll most likely have better ammo for less $$ (and you'll have have a new hobby to keep you busy when you can't make it to the range :) )

Right now Wolverine has 1260 round South African 7.61X51mm Match for $645.00 a case. Comes in sealed 140 round bandoleers, seven 20 round paper boxes per bandolier, steel case. Non-reloadable. After GST not including shipping thats 0.5375 a round vs. 0.51975 or $22.37 more for the whole case. And they have it right here right now. So if you want it right now and not to be stuck on a waiting list, you spend just under 2 pennies more per round.

I have fired a bandoleer through my M14 so far. Peep sights only. 2" grouping at 100 yards on a stand and this is my first year back into shooting in 17 years. No jams, misfeeds, or 2x4's needed.

Their linky is at the top.

I used to load individually on a single stage press and found it not too bad in terms of time. That was until I splurged one year on my birthday and got a dillon 650 with an automatic case feeder. I will now never use anything else to load my large volume service rifle ammo and can't imagine having to go back and do it with a single stage press. It was the best money I have ever spent in my gun hobby.
