whats a good website for gun reviews?

Its easy,

First, decide what guns you are interested in. Then Find out which gun writer the said manufacturers have on payroll. Then find the website/magazine of said gun writers and read. Glowing reviews guarenteed.:D

Seriously though I check predatormasters.com, shotgunworld.com, thehighroad.com, therefuge.com etc.......

These are all forums and the idiot content is quite high at some of them so use discretion.

No matter where you go, there will be opinions, and fanatics,
Like the bolt gun guys, Todbartel, Gatehouse, Bigredd etc
The Levergun guys, ME, Maddog, Win94
The pump gun 'strokers' , supercub, and .... well ok, he's alone. :D
The salesman, Doug :)
And the rambo set with their semis.
The close range brush hunters, the long range prarie artillery specialists, and the super light weight mountain boys.
The newbies, the once a years, and the determined all year hunters.
You have to settle in, and determine where the opinions are coming from. That done, you can form your own.

I just wanted some websites where they posted articles on guns... not a forums where a writeup for a gun is a few paragraphs. thnxs tho guys

whats a good website for gun reviews? Mostly focused on sporting arms would be nice!

Im sorry, but am I the only one that thinks this is the stupidest question I've read on Gunnutz in a long time...

Use the search function to look up info on what you are looking for... Im pretty sure that you'll find more than enough UNBIASED information, and much more than you'll find in a gunrag, or a gunrag website...

How about "gun test" magazine. www.gun-test.com

They usually compare a few firearms and note pros and cons rather than the usual articles which focus on the good only. I think its $15 per year or something. Pretty useful info.

I don't think it's a stupid question. Getting a variety of opinions from different sources is always worthwhile.

There is no such thing as an unbiased review. Everyone has their individual preferences and experiences. The very best review is the one you do for yourself.

The link I posted above has what I consider to be very good reviews on shotguns because I'm getting the technical information I want to make decisions and not as much hype. I also find the shotgun reviews done by Bruce Buck in various magazines worthy of attention because he is not just restating the press releases and his views generally coincide with mine (imagine that ;) ).

GunTests prides itself in being independent but at least for shotguns the people doing the reviews seem very poorly informed. Chuckhawks isn't a favourite either.

Right because the search function is the most highly toted, most reliable feature on this website.

Right on there buddy. :slap:

True, but when you weed thru the junk, there's a lot of 'hands-on" reviews from the range and field, not just some gun writer that shot one animal on a 3 day hunt, or used a new gun at the range. I put more value into extensive field use than gun mags.

The problem with the search function is trying to search a string, instead of one word.

Yes, if you've got a bit of computer saavy, it is...

Maybe you should try "Advanced search", or is it too advanced?:D

Maybe some other shooting site's search function works, I suggest trying there when you find it.
Maybe you can find it on the OFAH website
