Whats a NIB 590A1 14" worth?

When ever a deal comes along, people remember the deal price for far longer then the deal lasts......somehow sellers years later are still expected to price based on the one time deal otherwise people think they are gouging.

Truth. If you can't point to an ad or listing current at that moment in time, it's irrelevant. A lot of people who complain about the EE can't grasp this concept.

I picked up 2 of those kits and kept a close watch on the EE , the first gun I put together for just over $700 , the 2nd one for just over $500 , then sold the take off parts back on the EE to recoup some cost and unless you absolutely positively need to have "590A1" on the receiver , it's the way to go if you missed the boat on factory made ones .

Can-down has it nailed in the above quote.
I always get a kick out of members with a low trader rating count that dispense sage advice on what they imagine an EE price should be.
To stay on topic I will add that I sold a 14" barreled 590A1 in late July for 835$ shipped. IIRC it never made one bump.

$600-$800 now, $800-$1000 within 3-4 years, $1000-$1200 a few years after that...you get it.

Any price increase over time will be dependent on how many of them emerge into the market as a result of being built out of the available 14" kit.

A 100% factory OEM Mossberg M590A1 With 14" bbl and Ghost Ring sights + SpeedFeed stock CAN & WILL sell for around 1K

About a year ago, Ellwood Epps got in many factory 14" 590A1 shotguns listed at $750 NIB.....simply supply & demand.

I bout my mint condition used 14" 590A1 for $599 about 7 years ago.....I have had solid offers for 1K but would never sell, it's a tactical masterpiece.

I'm sorry to say, but your buddies asking price isn't too far off. Perhaps slightly on the high end. Key factor is condition. If it is basically NIB in Mint condition, I would personally pay $1000 for it...if I really wanted it. A NIB full size 20" M590A1 with Grs amd SpeedFeed stock will run you about $800. So, for a highly desireable compact 14" model....it only makes sense to pay a premium.

It it's a little beat up.....$850

If its a Mint condition with amazingly accurate Ghost Ring sights, and SpeedFeed 4-shell holding stock..... 1K ALL DAY LONG

If its too pricey for you......buy a new 20" full size model.

I bought my mint condition used 14" 590A1 ...

I had the same until a fellow G'nutter pm'd me with an offer(4yrs ago) of $1500. Sold it and moved on. I actually prefer the full-sized 20" & 18.5" 590A1….

My buddy bought one of the modified cylinder 590A1's from Bull's Eye for $599. It's not as nice as the 14" 590A1 I had and IMO $1,000 for one is too much!

Hey….I should I expect a 3rd goat for reaching 3,000 posts LOL

In what way was your's better than his?

Well, you could always buy the 18.5" Mossy from Wanstalls for $559 and then add the 14" kit from SFRC for $289. There'll be a couple shipping fees and taxes but you'll be under $1k

Agreed, the key part of that statement being "100% factory". A pieced together 14" kit will never be worth as much as one that left the factory that way. Some people will understand why, some people will not. The original ones will very likely appreciate over time.

They have whole 14" kits available. Not a cheap option though.
I just bought a 14" kit from sfrc, $290 and there is a free shipping coupon, just type in Freeship in coupons, so for N.S. 15% tax just under $334 delivered! Has anyone installed one of these yet?? Can you give me any tips to make it a smooth install?
Cheers Bob

Easy ,you can even check youtube for help , you might need to apply a little heat to get the old mag tube off , put a small block of wood ,2x4 , in a vise , put the receiver on it, then turn the mag tube , it should come off by hand , but a strap wrench might be helpful to have , if you use anything else , be sure to rap the mag with tape or something so as not to mar it , and use blue thread lock for the new one .

That's a good price but I don't have a regular 590A1 for the kit... I have the factory 14" 590A1.

Good thing about them is, they fit the 500/590, and from what I understand the barrel is the same thickness as the a-1, but could someone confirm that? I have a 500 and 2 590s so no problem getting a donor! I was hoping the price of the kits would get more reasonable, they will likely drop a bit more too but I jumped on this sale and free shipping.
