whats a real good “flap” holster ?

I need a “flap” holster to fit my

colt 1892 4.5”
. or.
WEBLEY GREEN 6”

It needs to be made like a tank so the gun will not come out of the holster I would like it to have 2+ snaps to hold it closed.

I would need it before the fall time. I am willing to pay someone $100-200.00 to make one for me. Or if you know of a real nice one let me know where I can buy one.

I am going to be in a 35km foot race in the bush this year and it would be nice to have a holster that I know the gun is not going to
fall out of.

i would like to it look close to this one but made out of black leather

You need a custom leather guy try the Knife forum theres some real artists with leather there.
I just use the old Big RCMP Flap holsters.
There hard to find and very good quality.

You might find a Ruger Blackhawk Bianchi holster would fit its kinda hard to tell tho.
So far i only have found the big old Flap holsters that will hold a Webley MKVI 455 will work.
There like $100 and up for a nice one tho.
Check Joe salter he had a bunch but there expensive.
Check Ebay they sell alot of leather holsters on there to.

If you can find one a 50-100 dollar heavy RCMP flap holster is hard to beat not much chance of getting a custom one done for anywhere close to that. SOmeone on here had a nice one that sold quick for 100 not long ago.
If you need to move fast over rough ground make sure you put a set of suspenders on the belt that you attach the holster to. Nothing sucks like a holstered side arm dragging at your belt. Something else to consider is how much wear 35 km of holster carry can do, make sure it is tight fit!

yup i got a good pair of suspenders , my pack is going to be 40lb's lol.. and then ill have 5lb's of video cam stuff.
westernrawhide.com is close by me so i am going to go take a look and see what they can make me.

pack + moving all day = http:// alaskasportsmanproducts dot com

I like the bianchi UM84R like the camo one pictured, clipped to the pack waist belt, but it wonlt fit the antiques you mention

I like that a lot. BUT if it rains my gun will get rained on and rust. That’s y I want to get a leather holster with a flap to cover the gun. Maybe ill see if I can get one like that made out of leather and with a flap.

and the colt 1892 would work in that.

have someone fashion a velcro'd flap, though from experience, even without rain, your sweat will rust a blued gun if not well maintained anyways. A leather holster by the third day in wet weather will be a sponge.

Marstar had or may still have leather flap holters for british guns Check under holsters on there site

IIRC dixie gunworks has a pretty good selection of traditional type leather holsters and they're pretty reasonable. I myself prefer an open top uncle mikes synthetic holster for my webley. The #2 fits a 4" webley like a glove.....

Finally! A holster designed for the hunter. The complaint we hear most frequently from hunters is that they need a holster that will protect their backup firearm from being scratched up and from falling out of the holster, while crawling through the brush of the forest.

Farmers also want to have a holster that will protect their firearm while working on farm equipment and being thrown around in the cab of a combine or bouncing along on a tractor.

This holster has a flap to hold the weapon in and to protect the finish.

.. Just a minor point; make sure there's a piece of material on the inside of the Holster, behind the snap or stud ! Otherwise the metal to metal rubbing becomes a real eyesore and a rust magnet! .... David K

I know it’s not much but the winners of the race get $2500.00 each.

cool, I get less then that to cover the same amount of ground somedays. If your prepping to move through unbroken bush do lots of lower back strengthening as you'll be leaned forward so much and do a crap load of leg lifts with wieghts on your ankles so your ready for windthrow.
Are you allowed to abandon your partner to thier whining while you forge on to victory?
