What's Better Glock Gen 3 or Gen 4

I think all the Gen 4 haters are just pissed they don't have one :p....in all honesty the gen 4 Glock 17 is the ONLY time I have considered getting one....all other Glock feel like a ####ing 2x4 in my hand so having a changable grip size is great!

There are a couple other differences with a Gen 4 (like the dual recoil spring) but the change is so negligible it's not worth noting as a decisive factor.

I would like to buy a Gen 4 except I am wondering about the dual recoil spring setup. I have heard there is less recoil with this setup than the older single spring guns. Can anyone confirm this?

Also, When I handled the Gen 4 in a store, I was expecting a smaller grip. It is smaller than the older version, but not that much smaller to me.

There's one thing that hasn't been mentioned yet that's a major difference between the two models. The LATER third gen models had a slight change to the extractor that made also serves as a loaded chamber indicator. A lot of people like this feature.

For me I could care less. Gen 3 and 4 are both so similar internally that you get a great gun either way, it's what feels more comfortable in your hand. Personally, I don't like the new RTF feel and the curved serrations on the slide is BUTT ugly.

And you can tell the difference between the EARLY gen 3's and the LATER gen 3's by the addition of a second cross pin above the trigger pin. The glock posted on the last page is a later gen 3.

I personally own an early model gen 3 and I love it. Wouldn't trade it for the world, but it's personal preference. For me, the gun feels GREAT in my hand as is, but others want the adjustable back strap.

I haven't shot Gen4 Glock yet but compact Glocks already been using dual spring for some time now. My G29 has one, it seems to work alright.

And you're right about the grip size, it's pretty much the same size, so if you have a small hand M&P is the way to go! I like it because the texture feels better in my hand.

I own a Gen3 RTF2 and like it way better than the Gen4 I had the opportunity to shoot and purchase. You can't go wrong with either, and it pretty much comes down to aesthetics and feel since they're so similar.

I personally wouldn't trade my RTF2 G17 for anything in the world. Whoever said you need to file down the grip to make it feel better has small child hands :D
