What's cool lately in the land of Semiauto Tactical Shotguns

Until that day, they will just copy Benelli's design "cough cough mossberg, remington, Hatsan........"

Non of those models copy the Benelli because I have the models you speak of and dry fire them & live fire them LOTS.. They look like copies but each model has different designs and quirks including the Benelli.

The Benelli M4 has an ARGO system which is a unique thing on its own.

The Hatsan MP-A has a smart valve system again unique to its design and responds differently depending on the load that you feed it..

The Mossberg 930 has a self regulating gas system... etc..

The balance points are all different with each model when they are loaded hence they all swing to a target differently.

Recoil is different and the hardest part since semi shotguns are only 5 shots - RELOADING fast is very different on all the models since the loading ramps on all them are designed different.

Im not sure where the copy part is since the price range also differs from all the models.

Lets not forget weatherby. You know they had a Supernova sitting on the table when they desigined that thing :yingyang: Even Mesa Tacticla is in on it. We cant think of any new stuff to design so we'll just copy an existing design and make it fit the cheap hooker shotguns! I geuss it worked.

the benelli m4 is, and has always been, the alpha breed of tactical shotguns
I would agree except for the fact that the Versa Max is in it 3 year of production and also the M4 can not take the 3 1/2 magnum rounds. It only will take the 2 3/4 and the 3 inch rounds.

What you say?.........the Benelli fails at the 3.5", you say? Ha ha ha! Take that Benelli boys! Booya!

I'm just kidding guys. I'm just jealous I don't have one.lol

Unless your Turkey/Waterfoul hunting, the 3.5" loads are kind of a waste of time to begin with... Besides they already have their Super Black Eagle semi-autos for the 3 1/2" loads, Im starting to assume thats even what Benelli was thinking the 3.5" is for hunters only, hence why the M2, and M4 being their workhorses of the tactical field they left that caliber out for them. The SBE & M2 are also Inertia driven, which is still the cadillac of operating systems over pistons, and gas operated firearms. Sorry DARKSTANG but Benelli is still tops when it comes to pioneering new kit ;):D:D

I think a properly configured Saiga is there already, too bad we can't have them.

Saigas are a bit rough around the edges, after a bit of tuning/honing alot of the Americans enjoy them for 3 Gun comps down there, but the AK platform is indestructible as we all know, one of the PDW DD/AOW (Destructive Device/Any Other Weapon Class III) builds that one of my American comrades is contemplating is a 7.5" Saiga with two of their 50rnd drums... cause when the zombies go bump in the night, they can as well with a vengeance.... but yes too bad they arent available to us Canucks, they would make great 3 Gun Shotguns! :(

The proposed 12 gauge version of the TDI Kriss could be interesting if it ever hits the market, though its pretty much guaranteed to be ammo sensitive and suffer from teething problems if the .45 ACP versions are any indication.

well i just contacted srm arms.
they said they are in the process of of trying to get it into canada but the problems so far are that it has an 18" barrel and they would need to make some 18.5" ones. the other problem is the capacity. he said that the mag thing wasnt approved and they would have to limit it to a 5 round capacity. well hopefully they find a way around that.

Why not just produce a Canada specific mag which cannot rotate, then you would have to remove it to change which stack you are using. Same functionality as a doubled AR mag.

I'd like to agree with you guys too. Just this once. Lol! Maybe if a lot of us bombarded them with Canadian emails, they would get the hint.

It would involve changing the magazine molding, or perhaps just make the front attach a square peg instead of a round one. I'd really like a close-up of that area.
