What's everybody carrying this season for whitetails?

Marlin XLR444 - The definitive whitetail Big-bore rifle.
Maybe my stainless Mod 70 in 270, it just works.
It rains a lot here in hunting season so I like the stainless option.

winchester 1885 highwall 270wsm for the open country. 130tsx
ruger m77 compact 260rem for the brush. 120tsx
and if a moose might be encountered model 70 300h&h 180partitions

Browning Shorttrac Camo Stalker in 7mm-08 with Hornady 139gr GMX Superformance ammo.

Working on a load for the 300WSM also in a Browning Shorttrac plain stalker with 150gr TTSX and Superformance powder. Data shows in the 3400fps but I would be quite pleased with something in the 3300fps range and good accuracy. This combo might get the nod for field work!

Stand watchs Ruger 77 in either 280 or 250 still haven't decided.
For chase watches Sav 1899 in 38-55 or 30-30 or maybe time to refresh old .33 still haven't decided & old faithful Win 100 in 308.

This year I will be taking my Marlin 1894SS in .44 RemMag, shooting a 240gr Hornady XTP over 23 grains of H110. I'll leave an SKS under the bench for back up just incase the venison gods decide to #### on my Remlin manufactured lever gun.

A Savage 99F in 300 savage with a model 94 BB in 356 as back up if something goes wrong. Also a CVA wolf 50 cal for black powder.

Lots of 94s going out this year. (No surprise.) Mine is staying in the closet this year though. Like jaydog says...the deer demand variety. The 94 in .356 always catches my eye, been looking for one for awhile now. Seems like it would be a good combo.

My SKS's, milsurps, and target rifles are staying home this year. Too much weight and not much practical value. Regarding the later, I simply don't have much, if any, real long-range shooting opportunities, so big scopes on heavy rifles are not needed. What I am bringing, depending on the day, are:

Dry weather;

**For thick bush:
--> Sako 85 Bavarian Carbine in 30-06; 20 inch barrel and the sweet factory iron sights (Hornady 180 gr SST, Winchester 168 gr Ballistic Silivertips).
**For open bush:
--> Custom Mauser 98 lightweight sporter in 7x57; 23 inch barrel with a 2.5x fixed power scope (Prvi factory 173 grain SP).

Wet weather;

**For thick bush:
--> Remington 870 12ga Marine Magnum; 18 inch cyl barrel with bead sight (2-3/4 Challenger 1-1/8 oz rifled slugs).
**For open bush:
--> Remington 870 12ga Marine Magnum; well oiled 23 inch rifled barrel with cantilever mounted 2-17x32 scope (385 grain Remington Accutip sabot slugs).
