Deer season is just around the corner here in Ontario. So what's everybody carrying this year? I'll get the ball rolling. I am taking a Winchester Model 88 carbine in .308 and a Remington 7600 in .35 whelen. I've been hunting deer for three years now with no success, so hopefully this is my year.

lilsurfer, Good luck to you! I hope this is your year. :)

Mine is either a Winchester model 70 Featherweight in .270, or a Browning Stainless Stalker in .375 H&H. I'm going to carry both.

Sako 85 Finnlight 30-06 with a Leupold VX-R 3-9 40mm, shooting remington 168gr premier core lokt ultra bonded. Going to the range tommorow to zero it in and maybe bust some clays too

Giving a try to a new 77-44 Ruger mounted with my TR-24 Trijicon german post, but 44 mag is what deer hunting is all about a dozen or so deers have fell to my's 44... Deerfield, Marlin,Trapper and if i feel like it i may give a try to my Rossi Hand rifle 44 mag, on the sand bag i could keep everything within 3 inch at 50 metres, not that good but enough for the thick brush, will see... JP.

Bah screw that .44 crap...you have a 6.5 Creed...thats all you need for mice to moose :)

The wood i hunt are with no open area thick brush, hard to walk but full of monster bucks not uncommon to kill 240 pounds +, were short barrel 44mag heavy slug are king and between you and me the first time you stumped a big buck with a 300 grainers at 1600 fps you understand that anything else would not do better at a 100 metres or less and those rifle weight under 6 pounds, when i go down in Pennsylvanya to my cousins place in Bhetleem, i do use my Scout Steyr 308 as easy 200 metres shoots are possible, my Icon P.H. 6.5 Creedmoor is heavy with the Sightron on it 10 pounds instead of 7 pounds make a big difference in a day of hunting, i will use it maybe on my first Cariboo hunt... Cheers. JP.

30-06 Savage pushing a 150 grain Hornady Interbond. I may try to get out in a day or so with my muzzy...a T/C Omega pushing a 250 grain Hornady SST.
