It depends entirely on what your individual rifle prefers.
I've had enough SUB MOA groups out of a several rifles with Hirtenberger 7.62 NATO Ball, to know Hirt is inherently capable of doing that well ... in a rifle that likes it.
But then, I've also seen the same HIRT ammo go in to 3" - 4" out of some other rifles.
[As a generalisation/ on average ], Hirtenberger shoots the best out of several types of ball in most of the M-14 rilfles I've tried it in. Hirt is also boxer primed, and excellent brass for reloading, while most other 7.62 NATO is Berdan primed.
S/A Ball has a bad reputation, and most of the M-14 rifles and a few bolt actions that I tried it in shoot it at about 3". But, SA is still available and Hirt is seemingly dried up. I've got lots of SA myself, and it is just fine for practice. I also have lots of 168 Gr HP BT match if accuracy really matters.
But if I ever luck into another few battle packs of Hirt, I'd snap them up.
