Take the deer .... or don't take the deer, it doesn't really matter as long as you get to spend the time hunting with your Dad later. Personally I would take the deer and then go to the island and enjoy my time with my dad, ( I wish I still had the opportunity to do so). If I had the chance again, I would take my video camera and sit right with Dad and video his hunt for you both to enjoy in the future when he may or may not be able to participate. My Dad never cared if he ever filled his own tag as long as I was there for the hunt.
