What's the Accuracy out of your AR15's

I have a RRA Varmint upper with a Wilson 24" 1-8 with Wylde chamber

I haven't even started tweaking my target loads and this gun shoots everything into 3/4 MOA 5 shot even with a moderately dirty barrel. Shots 1/2 MOA if I really really take my time

My current load development consists of both the 69Gr Sierra HPBT and 75Gr Hornady A-Max, Varget , CCI BR-4, WW brass and Fed GM brass

Its too soon to tell which load I will stay with

Only problem is the A-MAx is single load only due to its very long length ( won't even come close to fitting in the magazine

Scope is IOR 6-24 Tactical

I also have my plinker loads with 55Gr FMJ w/ Ramshot X-Terminator loaded on a progressive. I have only shot 15 rounds of this through my RRA upper . Seems to have trouble keeping it in 1.5 - 2 " !

Lower is a RRA with the 2 stage NM trigger. This trigger is good but not spectacular
 
Well here's my range report:

- 7.5" DPMS Kitty Kat upper, free floated with the VLTOR handguard system.
Knoveske flash hider(to deflect the muzzel blast forward).

- C79 ELCAN 3.4X Scope

- 55gr fmj Federal Amercan Eagle ammo.

5 shot groups at 100M averages around MOA

10 rounds at 100m. Rifle was shot from a prone, bagged position.
Group was part of my work up for a 77gr. SMK service rifle load shot a year and a bit ago.
Rifle is a bastardized Colt 20" Target Match with 1:7 twist HB
Add ons are a set of (floating) handguards, Gieselle SR trigger, full circle bolt carrier & a Nighforce 2.5x10 NXS. (set at full power for this)
Load is Winchester brass, BR-4 primer, 23.5 gr. Varget & 77gr. SMKs (OAL 2.250")
Average velocity was 2629 fps and the mean spread was 67 fps.
Group size is around .850"
Loaded all on a Dillon 550 (Edit: these ones were not - they were loaded on a Rock chucker to test out the Redding dies. I do plan on using the Redding dies on the 550 and comparing the results.)

I haven't had a chance to shoot mine yet. Should get to in Spring.

-Samson railed free float handguard
-Target crown hidden underneath the flash hider :D
-Stock trigger but seems like it'll be OK for now.
-16" Stag M4 clone barrel 1/8 twist I believe.

I'll be using an Eotech 553 and a Falcon Menace 4.5-18x 56mm IR that I have set up with Quick release Zeiss rings. The only problem is I'll need a riser picitiny rail for the scope due to the Arms40 flip up sight. Otherwise this set up should be pretty versatile. Plus the scope (Which will mainly sit on my .22 upper) should do the trick for testing accuracy and loads.

I should note that the rounds are crimped with a Lee 'factory crimp' die, and I used a Redding Competition seating die.
I don't prep my brass beyond FL sizing, trimming & chamfering.
As these were done for load development, I allowed the barrel to cool between shots, took something like 40 min. per shot and all this other nonsense BR and TR guys do for good groups; - I guess it works:redface:

All of the 77SMK loads I have shot worked really well. I've gone from 25 grains down to 23 grains, crimped and uncrimped, federal, winchester, cci brand of primers. Trickled and untrickled powder.
Match primers and Crimping helps with evening out the velocity spreads and does tend to tidy up the groups, I think.
trickling powder doesn't add much but can't hurt. (these weren't)
Using competition type dies is probably the easiest way to see difference on paper.

Same rifle
Optic: 3X9 Delta made by Tasco (integrated scope mount, no rings) set at 7 X
Ammo: 60 gr Sierra HP flat base bullets, 23 gr WC845 (surplus powder close to H335)
Range: 100 yards
Group size: 10 shots with a mag change in under 3 min, 1.055" from a rest.

I admit that was my best group, not what I get every time, which says more about my own consistency than the rifle.

Armalite Lower with YHM butt, desent trigger job on factory Armalite internals.
Upper is a KEYHOLE flattop with a 16" fluted HBAR, 1 in 9" NON chromed bore, 10X Bushnell 3200 Mildot scope, Dlask shorty compensator.

Last time out, using a block of 4"X4" and some carpet for a hasty rest,
with Win 62 Gr White Box ball, @ 100 yds, I was getting about 1.25" five shot groups.

That may not sound too impressive, but after sighting in for a 100 yd ZERO, I tried a bit of plinking at 100 yds on "casual" targets.
One shot = one golf ball ...
repeat until you run out of golf balls.

I also managed to hit a standing shotgun shell ... but that may have been luck.

Good enough for Govt work.

Pretty impressive gentlemen.
Dug up one of my old targets...last nice day in the fall.
Colt M4 16" upper...1/7 twist, LMT lower.
Sighting in my ACOG TA31F (prefer the ' chevron of death' vs the 'donut of death:p)...Using a rolled up piece of carpet as a rest....
Shooting Winchester WB 55Gr., managed to put 10 rounds just under 1.5"
Overall, pretty happy considering the rest, ammo and magnification.
As previously stated....plenty good enough for Gov't. work.;)
