What's the Appeal of the Cz/Vz?

Only online will you find AR snobs, Most shooters I know not only own AR's but also have CZ/VZ's. 75% of the time the CZ/VZ's get more trigger time, cheap to shoot and just plain fun.

The appeal for me over another AR was simple, because I can. So glad I did buy a CZ love the thing, just keeps going and going. Just a solid platform that is battle tested unlike 90% of commercial AR range toys that have way more problems than a CZ/VZ will ever have.
 
The open sight limit the potential of the CZ, and especially so if it is a short one or you are past age 40.

A peep sight makes a big improvement. i used mine in CQB last week in the rain. The front post was painted florescent red and the combo was perfect.

Agreed. The standard optics are not very great on the gun.

It is not especially inaccurate, but any flaws are made 5 times worse by the bad sights.

I see your point, but the 50 rounds of 5.7 is a moot point in the US where you can buy 60, 75 and 100 round mags for the AR in conventional 5.56. for $60-$100

Valid point, but the 5.7 in that rifle does have the advantage that the mag is not massive, and more importantly in the same plane as the rifle. Which would be useful for compact, loaded, storage. Of course, a moot point in canada.

I imagine being in the bush with that rifle in a scabbard or pack. Try doing that with a beta-c mag in an AR :p

Speaking of which, I would say that the vz 858 with the beaver barf stock would be the only 7lb option to still have a functional boom stick after beating the fetid hordes to deth.

Just sayin...

the mag in that one has been tuned up to drop free on a trigger finger press of the release. Sensual s**t.

NEA cowitness handguard is epic good times.

The apeal is because someone doesn't like it and wants to take it away when there are many more powerful firearms out there...
