What's the best bang for the buck?

I hand load and was wondering what the best bang for the buck would be in a black rifle (non restricted) chambered in 223. If I was driving around in the country and a coyote presented itself at 200 yards or less, I would like something that I could feel comfortable (accuracy wise) shooting at that distance.

I have the HK SL8 for yodellers but to tell ya the truth...if I am shooting coyotes I prefer a good Ruger No. 1 for the job in a calibre fit for the job. Or a good bolt gun as KDX says.
