What's the best gun cabinet?

I am assuming for long guns since we are in the Shottie forum?? I have two steel school lockers, side-by-each, ammo on one side, built rests for the other side for longguns, can get 5-6 inside, plus handguns on shelf...

I bought mine from Can-tire for $90, it is for seven long gun and has to put together by myself, very strong and roomy for that price. Watch out the flyer.

I have three of those Crappy Tire "Stack On" cabinets. They carry two models - one you have to put together and it's supposed to hold 4 guns on each side - good luck if you own bolt guns with scopes or shotguns with 30" bbls! (I should know - the first two were that model...)
The other one is the taller and wider pre-made cabinet which costs a bit more, but it can hold the 8 guns it says it does easily - it offers scope relief attachments to stagger the guns and I don't have to use surgical/Jenga skills to get at everything. I recommend this one, unless you can get ahold of some old school lockers and modify them as echo mentions...

WTFs a *shottie*?

Almost any, "not readily broken into" container will work, no need to spend money.

Use your imagination.

Where did you buy that cabinet?

You guys are great. The neighbourhood school has lockers for sale for $75 bucks. I also have the BC Govt surplus warehouse around the corner from me. I'm sure I could find a few cabinets just like joe-nwt has shown here. Went to Can Tire today. They want $200 bucks for the nice one Monty talks about. I figure I'll save the money.

I didn't spend any money, except for the paint and the lock.

It's actually an 800amp, 600volt 3 phase fused disconnect. It was laying around on a customer's roof and I suggested I could "dispose" of it if they wanted.:D

Brought it home, gutted and painted, threw a shelf inside (2x12) a wood rifle holder, lagged it to the wall and Viola! Instant gun cabinet!

Like I say, use your imagination and keep your eyes open!

Thanks for the infos.

We used to have a Quebec Gov't surplus warehouse near our home. I'll have to check if they are still selling off old equipment.

See post Number two.

Same deal for me, got a double school locker very cheap, only I drilled one side in the right places and put two extra padlocks on.
