what's the best hand primer?

I used the Lee AutoPrime for 30 years. When it wore out I bought a new one and it is crap.

I bought the Frankford Arsenal Tool, and it is superb. Solid metal and easy to use.

Have not tried the RCBS, which is cheaper.

I have the lyman. Nothing bad to say.

The Lee needs a different set of shellholders that are used only for their hand primer, so I would avoid it.

The Frankford Arsenal is rated tops as mentioned here and also by long-time longrange shooters using them who previously used the original Lee.

Agreed, went through 3 Lee tools, bought the new model it will not work with large rifle primers and is 'just' ok with small rifle primers.

Tried the Lyman auto prime tool , didnt seat primers deep enough contacted Lyman they sent me another one, still didnt work.

Wore out an RCBS tool, it was ok but change over from small to large was more complicated than necessary, it eventually wore out.

The Frankfort Arsenal tool works well, has adjustment for primer seating depth and is very user friendly. I really like it.

I'm liking the all-metal look of the Frankfort Arsenal...and the $100 price (off Amazon.ca) isn't intimidating at all. now to watch a couple video reviews of it's operation and such!
